As a testament to my plinking skills, there's a coffee can that is riddled with holes from .22 shorts in my Henry.

We don't have prarie dogs where I live, we have whistle pigs (aka woodchucks, groundhogs or whatever else you can call them). I normally don't like running shots, too much risk of making a wounding shot.

I prefer to pick them off at longer ranges while they are standing up at their holes or when they are feeding. If you get to close they'll freak out and run. That said I have shot them on the run, but I really don't like to do it for the reasons mentioned above.
