Her parents did not get along so well that she questioned what it was that kept them together. Whilst Anesa was a loving and understanding mother, Rain’s father, Dougal, was quick to anger. This conflict affected her greatly that she kept to her room behind a closed door.
One night, she woke in the darkness hearing her mother’s screams. Terrified, the young girl sat unmoving on her bed in the dark room. When the screaming ceased, she took slow steps and with trembling hands opened her bedroom door. The sight she beheld was terrible; her father lay passed out in the hall outside her door; a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a blood-stained knife in the other.
The poor girl fled through the bedroom window, never to reurn to the house where her mother lay dead.
For many long days, Rain wandered the streets, stealing what she could to survive. Then, one day, she was met by a man who assaulted her and attempted to deprive her of her virginity. A wild struggle she did put up. Escaping, she fled into a wood pursued by her attacker, whom was soon struck down by another man by the name of Nishan. Seeing her battered condition, Nishan and his two friends took her back with them to the base of the Redeemed Lost. There, Rain trained with them for eleven years.
