Radiohead

Yes, I'm new..just joined yesterday.

Anybody like Radiohead? They are a very nice break from all those ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND SINGING!!! Not to offend anyone, but I do get sick from all those bands once in a while.

Favorite Song: Idioteque (Track 8 on album Kid A)

love radiohead and its a shame we dont hear enough from them really...although i guess what we do hear is more than original and fantastic so it must take a lot of time to perfect what they produce n we all know what a perfectionist tom yorke is dont we ? lol

yes id have to say idioteque is one of my favourites along with 'macquiladora' and 'just'

have you ever seen them play live ? if you ever do get the chance please dont miss the opportunity as when i went to see them at victoria park in london they totally blew me away and i would have say it was one of if not the best gig ive ever seen and am ever likely to see !

anyway its always exciting to wait n see what theyll come up with next...keep listening ;)

Another big Radiohead fan here

I would say they are the best band making music right now, even if their last three albums have all been disappointing in a way. I've come to expect them to never be able to pull off something like OKC again, but a guy can dream, can't he?

"Idioteque" is a great song, definitely my favorite from Kid A, but my favorite song is the Bends' "Street Spirit [Fade Out]."

A Radiohead fan here too! :D
I love them. I like their earlier albums best. The Bends and Ok Computer.
Fave songs off those would have to be "Fake Plastic Trees", "High and Dry", "Let Down", and "Paranoid Android".
"There,There" is also a good song too.
I think they would have to be one of the best British bands around, along with Coldplay.

Another Radiohead fan here. It was creep which first flagged up their potential to me (that was over 10 years ago now!). The jump between Pablo Honey (there is some terrible stuff on there!) and OK Computer in terms of quality is remarkable. I remember reading that Thom Yorke changed his vocal style after going to see a Jeff Buckley gig.

Anyway good gauge of Radiohead's influence is the naumber of bands which are clearly borrowing heavily from their music, circa OK Computer. I'd include bands lke Muse, Coldplay, Keane amongst others.

Anyway I alwayss liked Spinning Plates, Pyramid Song, Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit, Paranoid Android.

I first heard/saw Radiohead wayyyy back in 1995 as openers for REM. My friends and I weren't going to bother with the opening act ("Who is this 'Radiohead'??") but luckily we only missed the first song. I was intrigued by "High and Dry," hooked by "Fake Plastic Trees," and a definite fan by the closing song "My Iron Lung." They didn't much like playing "Creep," but it was a requirement at that time I would imagine.

Goes without saying that OK Computer finds its way in to my CD player often. Kid A had some redeeming moments, but I really do not like Amnesiac at all. Hail to the Thief has its moments. I like "Sail to the Moon" and "Backdrifts." Yep, I'm all about the melody.

Backdrifts?? Really? I thought that was the low point of HTTT, actually, along with The Gloaming. To each his own, I guess. My favorites on HTTT are Sail to the Moon (good pick), 2+2=5, and Sit Down Stand Up.
Try reversing the outro(the part with "the raindrops" repeated) to Sit Down Stand Up, you'll get some shocking results.
