Radio...is it just me?

Ok, I went home this weekend and was driving home today. It's only like a two hour drive from my home to my apartment, so it's not that bad. The whole time I had my radio on scan and I think I might have hit it off like two or three times. Is it just me, or is there just junk on the radio today? And I listen to just about every type of music!!!!

No, MetalBlade, it isn't just you. IMHO, the quality of mainstream music of today pales in comparison to past decades, particularly music from the 60's-80's. Growing up in the 1980's I listened to the radio a lot and it seemed that almost every song that came on was a good one. And yes, I do think there are good songs out there today in mainstream music, its just that they're few and far between.

Yeah most radio stations if they play good songs(which most don't) overplay them to death until you don't like them anymore. I listen to the radio very sparingly, definitely prefer cds.

I listen to the radio on my MP3 player. It's true that there is a lot of junk on it, and that all good ones are overplayed, but I luckily have a lot of channels to cycle through. If I look through enough, I'm sure to find a good song.

The worst part of it is, there's loads of great music to play...We just don't hear much of it.

my area has 2 great rick stations, 1 is for modern rock, & 1 for the harder stuff......its great.

i also have XM which doesn't have a good rock channel 'cept squizz

There IS a lot of junk, to put it mildly.

I have switched over to political talk radio, myself.

I seldom listen to commercial radio anymore. You're right is all just junk. If you like different types of music, you should try public radio. Also you should try internet radio. There are thousands of stations that stream on the internet and most are free.

Some of the sites you can go to and get a bunch of stations are radiotower.com, live365.com, lastfm.com, and pandora.com just to name a few. you have to join these sites but it doesn't cost anything to join.
