You are jumping to conclusions again - I did not say anything about praying to them.

So, the dead are aware of all that the Lord reveals to them and the Lord is omniscient and omnipresent, so according to the will of the Lord, He can reveal anything and everything to them, yes?

Yes, even Moses and Elijah were manifested as spirits and spoke before the eyes of Peter, James, and John on the Mount with Jesus. God allows spirits and even angels to manifest themselves in some recognizable form to be seen or to be heard. This happens throughout scripture. But this still does not say anything about praying to them. Anyway, yes I told you in post 5 that I beleive scripture proves their is no such thing as 'soul sleep' as some suggest. Spirits are alive and aware of all that the Lord reveals to them, for they are neither omniscient nor omnipresent. These are attributes only held by God Himself.

If they are aware and are closer to God, why shouldn't we ask for their intercessions? I mean, if there is nothing offensive or ungodly about asking a friend who is on earth for their intercessions, why not ask those who have finished the race before us for their prayers for us?

Remember, we do not worship the saints -- we ask for their intercessions.

Maybe because there is no precedent in all of scripture of saints ever being prayed to. Maybe because they can't hear our prayers since they are not omniscient and omnipresent. Maybe because Jesus is our High Priest and Mediator. Maybe because we are told not to call out to spirits in Heaven or Hell. Anyone want to add to this list????
