Dispensationals claim that the Messianic Kingdom is predicted in the Old Testament and is yet to be fulfilled. Dispensationals claim that after a seven year tribulation period Christ will return to set up His Messianic Kingdom. Jewish rabbis who had access to these same passages of Scripture interpret them in differing ways, as follows:

Rabbinical Views on the Millennium or Messianic Kingdom

Sanhedrin 97a:
Rabbi Kattin speaks of a thousand-year period in which God alone will be exalted while the earth will remain desolate.

From Sanhedrin 99a:
Rabbi Hillel says that there will be no future messianic age because Israel already enjoyed messiah during the days of Hezekiah.

Rabbi Eliezer advocates a 40 year messianic age based on Pslam 95:10.

Rabbi Eleazer ben Azariah proposes a period of 70 years based on Isaiah 23:15

Rabbi Dosa suggests a 400 year messianic age based on Genesis 15:13.

An unnamed Rabbi suggests that the messianic kingdom is based on the number of days in a calendar year, or 365 years.

Abimi the son of Rabbi Abbahu says that the messianic kingdom will last 7,000 years based on Isaiah 62:5.

Rabbi Judah said that the essianic age would endure the length of time between creation and his day based on Deuteronomy 11:21.

Rabbi Nahman ben Isaac said the messianic age would last from Noah's day until his day.

In 4 Ezra it is stated that the messianic kingdom of peace will last 400 years, and after that there will be 7 years of silence after which a resurrection of the dead will occur, followed by the final judgment.

If the rabbi's couldn't get the Messiah right...

Acts 13:27New American Standard Bible (NASB)
27 For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, recognizing neither Him nor the utterances of the prophets which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled these by condemning Him.

...then it's not likely that they get the Messianic kingdom right either.

There is no 7 year tribulation period in the Bible.
It is often produced by adding together two references to a period of 3 1/2 years in the Book of Revelation.

The other method is a corruption of Daniel 9:27. Some have taken the covenant with the many in Daniel 9:27, which is the same covenant with the many in Matthew 26:28 and have converted it into a treaty broken by an antichrist not in the chapter by adding a "gap" of time not mentioned by the angel Gabriel.

The following comes from the 1599 Geneva Bible, which is the Bible the Pilgrims brought to America before the KJV was completed.

.......................................
Daniel 9:27
And he (a) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to (b) cease, (c) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

(a) By the preaching of the Gospel he affirmed his promise, first to the Jews, and after to the Gentiles.

(b) Christ accomplished this by his death and resurrection.

(c) Meaning that Jerusalem and the sanctuary would be utterly destroyed because of their rebellion against God, and their idolatry: or as some read, that the plague will be so great, that they will all be astonished at them.

Who Confirmed The Covenant?

The New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34 and found fulfilled in Hebrews 8:6-13 and specifically applied to the Church in Hebrews 12:18-24 and 2 Corinthians 3:6-8 has made the Old Covenant now "obsolete" in Hebrews 8:13. The Dispensationalist's claim that God is going to deal with the modern nation of Israel under the Old Covenant system is one of the fatal flaws of the system. Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant, modern Dispensationalism collapses. The Age of Grace or "The Church Age" cannot end before the Second Coming because the New Covenant is "everlasting" in Hebrews 13:20. We also find those under the Blood of the Lamb in Revelation 12:11. A person cannot be under the Blood of the Lamb and not be under the Grace of the New Covenant. The 144,000 are described as "firstfruits" of the Lamb. Paul uses the same language to describe Christians in Romans 16:5.

As for the opinions of the Rabbis, I have to agree with the last post.

Talmudic Judaism in no way represents our understanding of the Old Testament. It is merely the opinions of Rabbis.

The Talmud also makes derogatory remarks about Christ. Read "Jesus in the Talmud" by Peter Schafer. (He is Jewish.)

I won't argue with that. But the influence of rabbis is not just limited to what is recorded in the Talmud but rabbis of the Messianic persuasion are still influential and are still promoting "another Jesus" that Dispensationals are accepting. I know I accepted this "other Jesus" as a Dispensational for over forty years that I was Dispensational. It amazes me that Dispensationals will embrace what those who practice Judaism as "Messianic" teach while Gentiles are believed to be second tier people of God grafted into Israel instead of grafted into Christ. The Apostle Paul disagrees with all of you when he states that in Christ there are no Jews or Greeks but all are of one body, the Church, when they are truly in Christ.

The real Messianic kingdom:

Luke 17:20-21
20
Now having been questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; 21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ For behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”

Joh 4:20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship."

Joh 4:21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

Joh 4:22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

Joh 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

Joh 4:24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Christ is the temple of the New Covenant as well as those indwelled with the Holy Spirit sent from God.

Today the temple in the modern State of Israel is made up of Christians from all races of people who now live there.

The New Covenant temple cannot be a place.
