I'm still here.
Wouldn't "near to quiverfull" be quiversome...
So you want to know why I can't claim full quiverfull?
Well, I am in a place where I reject our culture's attitude towards children and birth control, where we expect to be in control of our fertility and decide how many children to have and when. However I reserve more times for natural prevention via NFP than the typical quiverfull would... for example unless God calls to faith specifically, I believe preventing during unemployment is simply prudence that the Bible teaches about.

Near quiverfull here...
We have a quiverfull mindset but I am struggling after a traumatic first birthing experience with severe pre-eclampsia and nearly losing both baby and myself.
Anyone else been there and have any advice?

Stay mindful of your own medical needs and remain prayerful about what God expects for your surrender (of your womb) vs. your present medical concerns. Contraception isn't willful resistance if it is medically necessary, though many have scary side-effects. OTOH, God may give you a go-ahead/peace (about NOT using contraception), because He will help you.

Hi everyone,
this is my first post.
I now have the QF mindset... hubby's a bit slow to catch up but he's getting there.
We each have 2 children each from our previous marriages before we got saved. A (23) & Z (21) are his and T (16) & M (14) are mine. A & Z don't live with us now. We both were divorced from our spouses, got saved and met at church.
Ours are J (7), N (5) & J (5 months). We went off the pill in Dec 07 after finding out it causes abortion. Along came J very soon after. Then I found out about trusting God with our family planning and got pregnant when J was 3 months old. DH was none too happy about that and I miscarried last Sunday at 9 weeks. He blamed himself at first for not accepting God's gift. I think it's given him a big wake up call.
I know that I want our family to be QF. I'm reading Rick and Jan Hess's book at the moment. Very good read.
I'm 42 now so don't know how many more eggs I have but I'm open to whatever God gives us!

I'm not sure if I qualify as bona-fide QF or not... DH and I are both from large families (8 and 9 children) and we both loved it! We want to have a large family too, but we want to keep a couple of years in between kiddos so we can give them more individual time, and so that I'm not PG ALL the time.
At least that's how it is for now. We have a 2 year old and #2 is in the works!
