• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everybody

I am pretty upset about the whole nicotine addiction. I have only been smoking for a couple years (God only knows what I was thinking) and I only smoke about 10 a day.

The funny thing is that I am continuously trying to quit and managed to do it for about a month before I pretty much totally relapsed. The sad thing is that I am a very ambitious and strong-willed person as people come. Nicotine is just a bunch of BS and I am making this thread to say, hey everybody on this forum, let's all try to help each other quit and how can I help?

Hope you guys have a good one,

Ark

You can do it, just dust yourself off and try again. It took me many tries before success and today I am smoke-free..I agree nicotine is horrible. I think it is the hardest addiction to put to rest..maybe you should try the patches, they worked wonders for me. I find that they take the edge off while you are weaning yourself off of the nicotine. I will be here cheering you on, just keep the faith and don't ever give up trying to quit. Most importantly don't forget to ask God on a daily basis to grant you the strength to overcome this addiction...God bless...One moment at a time.................
