  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It depends on how in-depth the review is. I have avoided films because trashy language, excessive gore/sex/nudity were mentioned. Also have seen movies because someone mentioned they are non-offensive.

technically yeah I guess people here influence me... but to do the opposite ^_^... if a whole bunch of people say "I hated that movie" I'm much more likely to go see it... and if a professional movie critic says "I hated that movie" I'm *definitely* gonna see it :p I'm such a rebel. With people here, if they say they liked it, I'd probably still watch it, but if a movie critic liked it, I usually stay far away LOL

Nope. Not the sense that I avoid films because of reviews on here because, well, let's faced it, they're going to be a bit biased from the get-go. Do I flock towards movies that are generally disliked on this forum? Not really; but I do grow some interest. Movies that are controversial are usually more enjoyable to watch; more interesting - more original. More worth my $7.

nope. My desicion to watch or not watch a film is not influenced at all by critiques or comments of others. My mind is already made up to watch or not watch by my views of a movie based on does it catch my eye or look interesting to me.

i will read what others have to say about it but only to see if there is something in the movie that is the "biggie - dont miss it" scene so I wont miss it when it appears.

I tend to like to hear what others (of all ages and genres think) but there's also people in my life that try to influenece me to or not to watch a film which like others have said -just doesn't fly. I fight the majority ;) unless we're talking about real evil in a film then I of course DO listen and refrain from the film.

maybe it's my ADD but if you say no ,I say yes!:D I cannot be influenced by people over my viewing decisions.

RottenTom site makes me laugh myself to death because they're paid to give us BOTH reviews like I'm going to listen.

i think sometimes my friends try and influence me and maybe even parents but that's okay because of ratings and stuff. if its rated for me and i hear stuff i need to see a movie and make up my mind for myself and people on this board really don't effect me with their advice unless it's like everybody saying the same thing ..

Do we really influence YOU,yes

I am swayed if a film is recommended highly here by more than one person. I guess I am lazy and rather than waste time on sumt, I look for recommendations by the religious sect.
SO YES I am more likely to see a film that has been mentioned here.

More so the Television advertisements. I saw the advertisement for ‘Invincible’ on the television and had to go see it. It’s with Mark Walberg about a part time teacher and part time bartender. He goes from a want-a-be football player to a spot on the team of the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s a true story and he stayed on the team for three years. This may be the best movie this year.
