• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I suppose it depends what your life is like... some people live through horrific experiences, and I don't think that hating that would be a sin..
And as for being equally attractive, they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.. there are people I find attractive who you probably wouldn't and vice versa. I don't think the devil has anything to do with it, it's just the way genetics works :)

As for hating the devil... I don't know whether God does... I think that God is probably very sad at the devil's rebellion.. after all, He created him as a beautiful angel..
I have never hated the devil personally, although I hate what he does to people, but I think that a lot of Christians do.

Is hating your life a sin?
Are we equally attractive as people? I read somewhere that the devil messes with our genes, but I don't know if that's true. Are we all equal in looks?

We are all equal under God.
One may be skinnier then another but nobody is prettier in God's eyes.

I don't think it's a sin, sweetie, it's sad, and ideally God wants us to see ourselves as he sees us, beautiful and unique creations made in his image.
It takes a while to get there, though... I have trouble accepting that, and I think many do. But God is very patient :)

Becoming overly concerned about one's looks ultimately leads to the sin of vanity. We should rejoice in what God has bestowed upon us, whether they are related to our looks, talents, etc., for God knows what He is doing.

The Apostle Paul frequently prayed that the thorn in his side be removed. Some have argued that this thorn was the same medical condition that Barbara Bush, the former President's mother suffered from: Graves disease, which often causes the eyes to bulge unnaturally (proptosis). The Lord refused Paul's request telling him that his thorn served to keep him humble.
