About killing

I'm guessing you're referring to commandment in which it commands us not to kill. That is actually a poor translation, when one looks at the original word used it means murder. We are not to murder others, and that is rectified in other versions of the bible.

Killing others is perfectly acceptable in certain circumstances.

Now, on the issue of the vision Peter had.

That vision obviously had nothing to do with animals at all. The animals were merely symbolic.

The animals were symbolic of the Gentiles. For years, they'd been considered "unclean". However, now God was saying that they were now "clean", ie, you should now talk, mingle, preach etc to the gentiles. How do we know this? Perhaps I'm just twisting things, hm? Well, I'm really not. Because the bible itself tells us this is what the dream meant. Peter himself interpreted what the vision was saying-

[bible]Acts 10:28[/bible]

We can clearly see he doesn't say that God showed me that all animals are clean now did he? No, he say God showed me that people are all clean now. The vision is symbolic- and the bible tells us later what it means. In the next chapter, we see Peter getting criticised for meeting with them, too. This dream had nothing to do with animals. The bible shows us that.
