Hi, I hope you don't mind, but I have a few questions. (Just a little background... my daughter attends a preschool in Baptist church and I'm amazed at their fellowship, knowledge of the bible and their views on parenting. Oh I've been told they are have southern Baptist practices, if that makes a difference?)

What is your churches view on birth control?
Do you have holy days?
Do you believe in saints?

Thanks in advance for your answers. :)

We do not have any restrictions against it, except for we do encourage abtainance until marriage. While married it is your businessand is left between you and God.

No. not really. Every day should be Holy for God but we don't have any set aside days for special recognition.

Not in the way that the Catholic church does anyway. We believe that we are all saints according to God's glory, and the work done by Jesus on the cross.

Thought of another question....
Do you have religious items in your houses? For example, crosses?

Some people have crosses in their houses, but we don't use them as religious items, we use them as reminders of what Christ has done for us and that our houses are dedicated to Him.

  • Basically, any birthcontrol that would not abort a fetus after conception is fine, condoms, whatever.
  • Holy Days? Not so much, but we do have a mean potluck feast day! :D
  • The bible makes it clear that any one who is a believer is a saint. The bible makes no reference to canonization of saints. That is a developed tradition.

hope this helps, have a great day!!!

I made a cross that now sits where I pray. It's a reminder of the cross and the salvation it purchased for me.

There is nothing sacred about these items though.

I have a 9 foot cross out front of my house

Well OK I live over the church :)

We also have a Mezzuzah on the front door as commanded in
Deu 6:9
Deu 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

We observe the Holidays (Holy Days) as commanded in the scripture

I and I see saints all around me all the time!

But then what can you expect from a Messianic Mennonite?

Hi  Thanks for the reply. Two questions... What's a Mezzuzah and I've never heard of a Messianic Mennonite? Can you give me a little details?

Thanks. :)
