You're suggesting that these are the only 2 options??

lol, could you provide proof?

3 - maybe a sort of digital writing pad? lol! ^_^

Proof? i cant tell which of these methods you use (or another if there is) but the fact you put these words on the screen somehow shows me that in one form or another that you exist.

(btw the way - if your interested, i use keyboard, and im learning to use microphone ^_^ my methods of communication online!)

(and we're going really OT)

It is the end of individual life, as far as we can tell. There is no evidence it is anything but.

…do you fear from death ?
copticorthodoxy said:
No. The coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave die but once. Why be a coward?

copticorthodoxy said:
Very sad, if the deceased is someone I cared about – but life goes on (until I die).

copticorthodoxy said:
…what is your hope about the eternal life ??
copticorthodoxy said:
That idea seems a wish-fulfillment fantasy. In any case, if there is such a thing, it is apparently beyond our knowledge (I know of no evidence for such) so it is a trivial matter.

Read it, sounds good, it looks like you won that round.
Thanks but it's a bad idea to look at debate as a conflict.

Although it sounds like, for 'order from disorder' to occur, there has to be an outside party, in Life's case, the sun. That explains life, but what about the origin of the universe?
Well, let me put it this way, there's no happy ending to this story. But it's not something anyone should worry about any time soon.

But it's a huge thing, dont you think? Evolution explains the development of the most simplistic form of life to the most complext, but it doesn't explain where that form of life came from. That leaves a heck of a lot of room for question. And unfortunately, until scientists can come up with a Quantam Gravity Theory (which I for some strange reason doubt that they will accomplish), they can only make wild guesses as to what happened.

So, based on my experience, and the testimony of others, and the eye witness accounts of Jesus' life, I choose to believe on my Lord.

I think death is the end of your existence. Your brain doesn't work, so you don't experience consciousness as you did during life. I think of it like a dreamless sleep that you never wake up from.

I think about death sometimes, and it certainly makes me sad. The end of existence is kind of depressing, but I wouldn't say I fear it. Fearing something thats unavoidable doesn't seem productive.

When my friends and close relatives die, I think that is the end of their conscious experience. They are gone in that sense, but can certainly be remembered for a long time and other forms of "immortality."

I think eternal life would be nice if it was real, kind of like Santa Clause (although that wouldn't be so good for toy companies, oh well). Anyway, thats all it is, a nice comforting thought.

If God exists, then I guess I'd cross my fingers that he sent to athiests to heaven with the rest. After all, there's no reason to believe God discriminates againts atheists, maybe he sends everyone to hell, who knows.

I agree.

what the atheists thoughts about death ?
I don´t seem to understand. What could I possibly think about it?

do you fear from death ?
No, is there a reason to fear it?

what you feel when you see any of your close friends or relatives died ?
Loss of something I appreciated. Sometimes I have noticed a confusing touch of jealousy within me.
what is your hope about the eternal life ??
I don´t believe in eternal life, and I don´t find it an attractive thought.
What if God exists !!
Then I am wrong.

When you get through sighing, maybe you could share with the rest of us your evidence for

1. the existence of a personal god and
2. if you establish the truth of #1, then maybe you could share with us your knowledge of how you know what his rules are for making it to heaven, avoiding hell, even if there is evidence for a hell, etc.

In other words, if there is no evidence, then we are all talking about a fairy tale here, i.e., it's all for fun, nothing really serious. ;)

Evolution is only about genetic changes in species/populations, so how life got there in the first place is another topic. God of the Gaps is pretty bad though, from my perspective, because rather than trying to figure it out, one simply constructs and accepts whatever explaination one wants to believe, and it just pushes the whole thing back one step, and leaves one open to a rude awakening when such things are finally figured out. You might not feel that way, just throwing it out there.

So, based on my experience, and the testimony of others, and the eye witness accounts of Jesus' life, I choose to believe on my Lord.
Well, that's good for you, but why mention it? Are Jesus and science opposed to each other?

before I even try, please tell me what sort of evidence you want. I'm assuming your presupposition is that there is no God, therefore, no matter what I might present to you to show His existence, you must interpret it in a manner consistent with your presupposition; namely, that there is no God. If I were to have a video tape of God coming down from heaven, you'd say it was a special effect. If I had a thousand eye-witnesses saying they saw Him, you'd say it was mass-hysteria. If I had Old Testament prophecies fulfilled in the New Testament, you'd say they were forged, dated in correctly, or not real prophecies. So, I cannot prove anything to you since your presupposition won't allow it. It is limited. I suppose you could say the same for me, however I'm not asking for evidence that denies the existence of God...

If, God is real, then all science exists by him...so if i present any evidence, it's obvious that you will explain it using scientific theory.

So what evidence do you want??

Let´s say: evidence of the sort that you would regard compelling when it comes to Zeus´ existence would do, for starters.
