I have a question to anyone who has recieved and followed the call to ministry. I have recieved the call, but what do I do next. I don`t want to rush into things because I know God will lead me on the correct path, whether it will be Sunday School teacher or Pull Pit Minister. But I need some help. I know just to follow commands. But I need some insight.

Pray and Continually listen to what God says. Follow Him in all you do. Talk to your fellow ministers at your church. Make it public to your church so they can pray for you.

NEVER draw conclusions, you will be lost in what you want to do.

I was called into ministry on Fathers Day of 04' ( that's when I made it public , it was a couple days before that ).

I recieved the call through Bible verse. I then had a strong feeling in my heart to minister. Yet, I was unsure of what the call was. So I bought a book at a local christian store entitled Pastor FAQ`s. It said that God calls those through talking to you, talking to you through other christians and that you should follow what you are told to do. And I don`t question my calling, it`s just I`m new born Christian. I dedicated myself in May, well actually rededicated. But I`ve been given books to read in the bible, the Book of Galatians was my first, and then the Book of Romans. I was also told through my friends dad the story of Esther. So it`s a combination of everything. I will tell you this though, it`s the greatest feeling to feel the Holy Spirit over you, and when I recieved this call it was no different. God has a plan for me, just as he does for everyone else. Does that explain everything good Artos are do you want more specific.

It looks like its a general call to discipleship first. Anything else comes later as you grow in Him. Be open...and dont rush into it...If we are faithful in small things- being discipled and bearing fruit, He will entrust us with bigger things.

You can PM me if you want to talk further.

God bless.

This is correct, remember we are to "Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Col. 4:6. I was 5 years being rededicated and 2 years into being a Deacon before God called me. How can a person be seasoned unless he has studied, and how can one go straight into preaching without studying. Exposition of the scripture is a very serious matter. If you get in the pulpit and say that scripture means this and in fact it means another, not only do you have to answer for your teaching of this, but also for the teaching of someone else who might have heard this and taught it to another. Sit back, read and study the Bible, pray, pray, pray, and listen to God, he'll let you know when the time is right.
