I think LF is referring to the 144,000 becoming spirit creatures in heaven. Remember he mentioned earlier Matt. 5 which says the the meek would inherit the Earth. Matt 5 also talks of the pure in heart who would see God. That would mean one group (pure in heart) would see God because they are in heaven and the other group (the meek) that would not see God because they would be inherit the Earth and live in it forever

Doesn't it also say that "blessed are the persecuted in the cause of uprightness; the kingdom of Heaven is theirs" ?

Also, "blessed are the poor in spirit, the kingdom of Heaven is theirs."

I really don't think Jesus was telling "actually" what would be given to these people, because more than one description could fit anyone. What if one is pure in heart AND meek? they get heaven AND earth? He was speaking that EVERYONE deserves the blessing of God, not just the "wealthy, healthy and wise". It was generally thought back then that if you followed the "law" and walked right before God, you got prosperity, health and wisdom as a reward. So those that were poor, unhealthy, and poor in spirit must be doing something wrong. Remember when the desciples asked Jesus who sinned to cause the blind man to be blind? His parents, their parents, him? And Jesus replied that NO ONE was to blame, God did it so that Jesus could use him for good. And then He healed him. That was common thinking back then. If something bad happened to you, then you or maybe your parents did something bad in God's eyes and he was punishing you for it.....

IMO I always saw the kingdom of the heavens Jesus is referring to in Matt 5 as the same kingdom he directed us to paray for in the Lord's prayer.

Ok, then by what you're saying, only the pure in heart will become one of the 144,000? Is that what I am understanding? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Fit4Christ. Sorry I was just quoting the appropriate scripture not actually engaging in providing answers. I have no interest in the subject one way or the other. I am just a poor sinner struggling to make it to the other side of salvation gate. I do not care if I end up in Heaven or on Earth. The way I see it we do not determine whether we end up in Heaven or or earth so why bother? Personally I just concentrate on doing what is required of me as a Christian and leave what is beyond my means to God

So you are saying that you are or are not JW?

We're all sinners, mawuvi, but we have the promise of Christ in the Bible that we will be in heaven.

Since you call yourself a Christian, your comments confuse me. God gave us the freedom to choose whether or not we believe Christ's blood was shed for our sins and that our salvation it guaranteed by making Him our Lord and Savior. There is heaven, where believers go, and then there is the "other" place, where non-believers go. Do you believe otherwise?

The Bible says all believers go to heaven? I don't think so. I remember Jesus clearly saying he had other sheep that did not belong to this fold (This fold was the Apostles group). I am happy to be wherever God sees I fit into, debating it would not change anything.

It's like going to the airport and seeing people journeying to different destinations, why would I be interested in anybody's journey plans? I have to focus on myself and make sure I catch my plane. The same logic applies with salvation, if you believe you go to heaven good for you, personally I am not interested in where others go as I am trying as hard as possible to make it to journeys end successfully. Heaven, Earth, you do not choose so why bother, just make sure you catch the plane

I'm amazed. So you don't consider anywhere in the Bible that it says all believers in Christ go to heaven? What about Matthew 5 that you quoted a while back?

Mat 5:3 3"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:10-12 10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Mat 5:20 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Or Mat 7:21 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Or Mat 16:18-19 18And I tell you that you are Peter,[1] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[2] will not overcome it.[3] 19I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[4] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[5] loosed in heaven."

Or 2 Cor 5:1 1Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Or Eph 2:6 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

Or Phil 3:30 20But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Or... need I go on?

I don't get where earth is a possible destination for those who believe? Can you show me? Rest assured, brother, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and follow his word, you will reside in God's Kingdom in heaven.:holy:

God Bless!
