how important is worship to you?
What effect do you see it having on the congrigation of the church you attend?
how important is worship to the everyday life of a christian?

Worship is everything to me. Worship is not just standing up at church singing, it is doing things that would please God. I honestly can't speak for my church because it has turned into just a place to go sing or listen to other people sing, but personally when I do worship I worship with all of my heart, my mind, and my soul.......Worship is soooo important in the growth of every christian, just the same is reading the word, prayer, and fellowship with others.....

Last year I went on a mission trip and every night the leader of the group would tell us first worship then go (serve). Worship is where it starts we don't get up and just do it we seek God in doing it.

Like a married people have intimacy. So with God we are His bride, and worship is part of are intimacy with Him.

Worship is everything to me, its indescribable how important it is to me.

When our church begins to worship the whole mood changes, people are not thinking about themselves they have their mind on God, our worship brings in the presence of God.

To me worship is so important to everyday life, without it I would be lost. I love to worship all through the day, I like to sing no matter where I am at and just praise God, he is worthy of all our praise and even if with every breath I have ever breathed or will breath was used to praise him, it would not be enough!

Yeah, worship isn't just singing. SUCH an important thing to make.

However, the singing/musical part of my church service is, I think, a great tool for helping people focus on worship.

However, that includes walking the fine line, balancing on it, of "emotional" music and, ah, "nice" music. You don't want to make it a performance.

And, on top of that, worship is not singing "I could sing of your love forever......." 20 times. For me, at any rate, the genuine meaning when I say it gets lost around the 3rd time. Eventually, I'm just saying the words and feeling an emotion. No worship. So yeah. It's a really delicate line to walk, but I do think it's an important part of the church service. And the hymns we sing are so full of doctrine, it's cool

Worship is what we were created as people to do... And I don't mean music either!!! The Word of God prepares us to be worshipers of the Father... worship should be a time of intimacy, and the fact that we worship to music in services gives us an opportunity to lift up our hearts to the Lord as one body... As the Lord's return draws nearer, I am sure that worship will grow more and more intimate and powerful...

I think what is happening is for the church even more than it is for the Lord... God really wants us to WORSHIP Him again... and for some of us that have been steeped in religion, we know all the songs, and all the words, but our hearts do not know HIS... we are simply becoming re-acquainted with Him... HA! singing new songs, from our hearts, not tainted with religion, not written by others... we are PRAYING to music... we are communicating to the heart of the Lord from our OWN heart... Father KNOW us again, and teach us to KNOW You again... rise up a generaation of believers that isn't afraid to unveil their hearts to You again... who aren't afraid to sing out their thoughts and feelings to You... Lord regenerate the intimacy that we once had... draw us sooo close... sooo close... be our "soul" mates... heh... be our best friend... be the lover of our souls... and be our coming King... we are You Bride Lord... we wanna KNOW you!!!

Worship is the whole reason why we are here. We were created to worship and love our God. I think Worship has many degrees- I think singing praises to him is VERY important- but also there is Worship through our lives, the way we act towards each other that's worship too. I think the church needs to wake up- and realize the true essence of worship. It's all about him- and not how good it sounds or what songs you do.

How many folks can quote scripture...they know it verbatim...but don't know God?

On the reverse, how can someone say they know God if they dont' worship Him?



Not to mention that spiritual warfare IS worship. I think it's even more important than preaching (but don't let the pastor know or he might get convicted about not placing any value on the worship musicians)
