=FriendlyJosh;58010102]I'm not officially a Catholic yet, and I didn't want to share my opinion because I don't feel I give due justice to the subject, but i'll share anyway.
If you don't want to, why did you?

In the book "The way of divine Love" Jesus came down in the 1920's and had a Saint write down everything he told her, he talked about his infinite love and mercy, allowed the Devil to take the saint to hell various times
Have you ever heard of the second coming? Jesus came ONCE and he will come ONE other time to earth. No where do we read in GOD'S WORD that Jesus is gonna be visiting people before His second coming. That in and of itself makes the book spurious.

and in this book(which really happened, although a private revelation the Pope at the time said in his opinion it was 100% authentic, if you read it you'll know it's true,
LOL.... I have read it... there was so much wrong in it that if you were biblically literate, you would know as well. I like you though, was ignorant of scriptures and lapped it all up as a devout Catholic. You must must must equip yourself with the WORD OF GOD so that you will know what is false and what is true.

i've wrote a much longer post on it here before i'll try and find) anyway in this book Jesus says himself Mary is the queen of heaven,
Gasp! Say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!! This apparition who claimed to be Jesus calls The mother of our Lord by the name of a pagan goddess???????? Well that is no surprise as The demon would love to degrade Jesus' mother in such a way! Go look it up.....Jerimiah 7:18and then skip on over to
Jeimiah 44:17-36 (yes, I know I spelled Jeimiah wrong... it creates a link when I spell it right and I can't link yet.)
she definitely heard this saints prayers and appeared to her numerous times.
I am sure this queen of heaven did hear and visited.... Demons are like that you know.

Now I know you guys aren't catholic, but let me explain this to you how I understand it, logically. We all know that The Lords love is infinite, as is his mercy, we know this because he's said so himself and has shown it throughout the bible.
That is correct!

In the bible the Lord blessed many people, from soloman to everyone else, all of whom are wretched sinners like you and me. Now God The Father chose a woman(Mary) to bare his Son, The Son of God, think about how incredible and important that is
Of course... God knowing all knew what He was doing.

...clearly The Lord wouldn't just choose anyone.
Clearly.

In the book The Way Of Divine Love Jesus say she was choosen because of how uh, sorry I can't remember the exact words but basically how amazing and good she was,
But wait... this Jesus of this book contradicts Catholic doctrine... you see Catholicism teaches that Mary was immaculately concieved (conceived without original sin) She wasn't chosen because of her goodness.... God made her sinless. It had NOTHING to do with her....

she was as close to sinless as a human can be I believe.
Well, if your gonna be Catholic, you better change that belief.... the Catholic Church doctrine says she is sinless... not almost sinless.

Not only that but The Lord said he loved her more than angels because she,
Of course this demon who is pretending to Jesus said that he loves her more than the angels... Why wouldn't he? Sound good doesn't it? But did JEsus say that? NO!

unlike angels had to endure all the miseries of life and still was amazing in her goodness etc...(sorry I can't remember the beautiful exact words he used)
What in the world are you talking about? Yes Mary suffered. That is not why Jesus would love her more! God in HIS WORD says that he is NO RESPECTER of persons.

Now you have to ask yourself if the Lord blessed wretched sinners the way he did, how do you think he would bless The Mother he loves so much?
The same way he did for the rest of his CREATION that He loves so much... but enduring and dying on the cross.

The Mother who's brought much glory to his name.
How do you know how much glory Mary has brought to his name... care to sight the capture and verses in the bible talking about Mary bringing glory to his name and how much?

I assure you, she IS the queen of heaven,
You can do no such thing. Where is the biblical evidence of such a filthy pagan title given to Mary?

and she absolutely without a doubt deserves your utmost respect and appreciation,
I respect her the same as I respect all the great saints who were obedient to God.... There is nothing I can do to show this respect because she is deceased and is worshiping in heaven.

and by doing so you not only honor her but you honor The Lord as well.
How does one go about that of a deceased saint????????

I seen a video of a priest who died and was before Jesus for judgement and Jesus after looking over his life sentenced him to hell, however Mary was there as well and asked her son to give him graces etc...and another chance, so Jesus agreed and sent him back to earth.
You do realize that this is made up right?????????????

when you pray to saints, you're praying so they'll intercede for you to The Lord.
And please demonstrate where ANYONE in all of scripture ever ever prayed to deceased people EVER. If you can't do that, why is it you think that is the Godly thing to do? The OT not to communicate with the dead... why do you think it is fine to do when God says DON'T DO IT?

If you remember in the Old Testament this existed, with people bringing their burnt offerings to the levites(who were the only ones allowed in the tabernacle) to burn them on their behalf to The Lord
.

Who the heck told you that that is a reasonable comparison.... obviously someone who doesn't know logic... her is a hint for you, those levites where LIVING and part of the Old Covenant. Nope... don't see any praying to dead people here in your example.....

I pray we don't allow pride or hate cloud of views or our hearts, God Bless you all
I pray that God would open your eyes before it is to late. :(

I do pray The Lord continues to guide me, and that if i've misunderstood anything or am incorrect in any way that i'm made aware of it and learn from it. I will say this though, the fact you and so many others(not everyone) are so negative and insulting on this forum tells me you don't know as much as you think you do, probably not even close. On the Catholic forum when people disagree with you, they provide indepth, highly informative responses and they can do that because they're speaking the truth. Infact I encourage you to read this exact same thread on the Catholic sections and compare the quality and depth of those answers to the ones here, I think your eyes will be opened.

Telling you the truth is not negative or insulting. Please consider what I have said.

I read every word you said, and it was both insulting and negative and not just towards myself, I found it all very saddening that you think what you said is justified and true. The Lord is a God of love, yet you think being so insulting and negative is the right path? I disagree, unfortunately there is nothing *I can do to change your views, other than pray for you and hope The Lord touches your heart. If you want to pray for me as well I welcome it, God Bless you and have a nice day.

It isn't like I called you and the Catholic church a brood of vipers! Now that would be insulting. Thank goodness Jesus was loving enough to use such language!!!!!!!! Good gravy....

Please think carefully of what I said... examine the word of God.

I can't debate here, so...no?

OK..... I am new to this board and don't quite understand where you go to defend beliefs.

Maybe the word, debate is inaccurate.... I don't see why you could not defend your stance against what I have posted.

Have a good day.

PS. Sorry board if I come off snarky... I have been a part of a very aggressive apologetic board for several years now and see that the temperament on this board is a bit softer in writing style.

Forgive me if I have offended by what I wrote. I will try to choose my words more carefully in the future when presenting my position.

thanks board and have a good day!

If you go to another denomination's board, you cannot teach or debate your theology with them. You can ask questions and allow them to answer. It's why we Catholics told the OP to come to our board and ask questions. Debating usually ends up in General Theology, which isn't a denominational board. Most Catholics refrain from being on that board because it tends to end up being a bunch of people making their sole goal to tear down the Catholic Church, with no intention of a truly honest discussion. In effect, this really leaves us with no place to really debate. We can discuss, but the way your post is set up leaves me with little way to discuss. In all honesty, it's probably not worth the discussion anyway, since little good is probably going to come of it in relation to the amount of risk we run of being shut down for debating.

No worries. I was calling you out more in defense of Josh, who is in the process of looking into Catholicism, than for myself. I have a lot thicker skin—I don't mean necessarily in relation to Josh, but rather just in general; I don't hit the "report" button on my own board either—and I'm on a few secular Christian boards where you conform to the snarky herd mentality or you die. You won't offend me any.:)

Thanks for the post! I will have to give it time and figure this stuff out.

Maybe I will post all of this in the theology board and see if anyone is willing to debate my points.

I am very confused as to what is going on.

It is challanging to be new on a board... especially one of this size.

Last few pages aren't representative of these boards. If you few the first several pages of this thread, that's generally more what you can expect.

washedagain your original post was fine and agree with most of what you said. If they or anyone wanted to use scripture to debate they can. Scripture is not against any non-denom church I'm aware of....

I mostly post in the non-denom board and the theology here is not in stone. Nobody agrees here on most subjects, its kind of funny to watch. I do not believe in a literal Eternal Hell but I come here because I know of no other thread for that, but it works for me.

O rly?

House Rules-
All posts within this faith community must adhere to the site wide rules...In addition, if you are not a member of this faith group, you may not debate issues or teach against it's theology. You may post in fellowship. Active promotion of views contrary to the established teachings of this group will be considered off topic.

We cannot debate with washedagain here, actually. I suppose some topics in this sub-forum would allow for Catholic theology, but topics concerning the Blessed Mother do not fall under that. We're too far apart, so we'd end up promoting views contrary to typical non-denom views.

All I'm saying is use some scripture that goes with what you know without quoting "saints". This can be done in a civil respectful manor to both sides of the coin without trying to convert one way or the other. No harm in defending yourself with scripture. We all love the same GOD. Washedagain may have been a little too blunt but stated they meant no harm and want to follow the way of the forums.
