Hank,

about the the Qur'an versions:
There is no such thing, you have a translation between your hands which could help you to better understand the book, but you can't read from it when you pray, you have to recite in arabic which is the language of the Qur'an. The case with the bible is a total different thing.

This raises another questions. How do you pray? One of my neighbors has specific times and faces east and kneels down and prays. Are those prayers exclusively from the Nobel Qur'an or are those personal prayers?

All muslims pray this way, this is how Muhammad*pbut* prayed and told us to.

I can just hup to a plane, visit your neighbor while his friends are at home with him and just lead them in prayer.

that's how simple it is.

i hope this helps.

But what does that prayer mean to you? It is a demonstration of your faith to follow the commandments of your word but what siginificance do those words have to you.

I ask this because for example if three people make the same prayers and yet one of them is doing it because they feel they have to, the other is doing it because they have a true love for the words spoken and the last is praying because that is the way he/she has always done it and knows that is what they are supposed to do, which ones prayers are recieved with love, all or the one who is praying because of what is in his heart?

I asked why you have to pray that specific way no why you have to pray.

When my slave says in his prayer: "All praise is for Allaah, the Lord of the worlds," I say: "My slave has praised Me" When he says: "The Merciful, the Compassionate, Master of the Day of Judgement," I say: "My slave has glorified Me." When he says: "You Alone we worship and your Aid we seek," I say: "This is between Me and My slave." When he says: "Show us the Straight Path," I say: "This is for My slave, and I give My slave what he wants."

If you are just reciting words how do you communicate what you want. Also if some one says to me they are my friend and they value my friendship but dont really mean it or are just saying it to gain favour with me what am I to think.  Of course I would appreciate the friendship of someone who meant what they were saying.

Also if that friend was saying only the things I want to hear and not the things he was really thinking then I would also find that a rather shallow friendship.

Well king,
after we pray, we usually ask God for forgivness and for personal and general things in a suitable and respectfull manner. This is called Du'a ( Asking God ) and it is somewhat similar to the concept you have of christian prayer.

Again king,, you can't compare God with people, He knows all things, we don't.

Okay, but the reason I compare God to us is that, although it is true that we are imperfect we are made in the likeness of God. Not only that but from my understanding, as a Christian, from the word of God (The Bible) in a lot of ways we are similar to God (dont misunderstand me, I'm not saying we are Gods) in that we have the emotions he has, Love, Anger, Jealousy and Compassion. Also sometimes the best way to understand how God may feel about something is by thinking about what we would feel.

Example, One of the commandments is not to worship idols because God is a jealous God and wants you to worship only him. Now you can liken that to a Manogomous Marriage, if my wife loved another man that would make me Jealous because she should only Love me in that way.

Also the qualities of God are the qualities in us that we hold to be good. like love, kindness, compassion and Friendship.

In my experience in my walk with God he would rather have us talk to him like a friend or father rather than ardorn him like a sacrid object. In the bible people when talking to God it is made more like a conversation, there are the times when its in reverence but sometimes even the greatest men of God talk to him as the way they would talk to a friend.

Noah talked to God when he was drunk and that did not enrage him. Moses continually questioned God telling him that he [moses] should not be doing this because he wasn't good enough. When Adam and Eve talked to God it was as Friends or Family.

Does Muhammad*pbut* have examples of something like this in that the leaders of your faith, discussed Gods command to God in this way.

yeah thats what i am saying there is no real religion, there all fake, false, and should have stayed in the middleages, why do you think we are at war, mostly cause of religion if there was no religion's there wouldn't be any wars like the one we have now and the twin towers would probably be still standing.  I hope that by the time i get 50 years old that religion will be gone and only science with be around.

that is the point all the past wars havn't really been about religion but the war on terror is, why do you think that so many people hate us, mostly cause we are in there country and that christians believe that there god is the only one, and the same thing for islam. you can say i am wrong but i believe that if there was no religion there would be no big wars.

But arent the politians and the Army are the ones who wage war. Dont they twist the truth to benefit there means to gain the majority of support to allow them to war. Religion is but a tool to them, they do not necessarily believe in it but they know that it will allow them to gain support and justification for their acts.

But it is mearly twisted truth which are acturally lies to confuse the people into siding with what they want to do. Example Bush and Osma, they both twist religion to their own means.

"but the war on terror is"

*chuckles* No, its not about religion, its about terrorism, that's it. Why do you think all the current leaders in the Islam relgion spoke out right after 9/11?

"you can say i am wrong but i believe that if there was no religion there would be no big wars."

Yup, I do think you're wrong because men would just find another excuse to mask their evil agentas.
