emil basically you have to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, but once you convert to Orthodoxy, you must get baptized... sooner or later, not necessarily right away. I still haven't gotten baptized but i still converted.

Orthodoxy is very spiritual and i can give you the name of some very good beginner books.

The Orthodox Way - Arch Bishop / Monk Timothy Kollistos Ware. He was educated at Oxford and knows about 6 languages. He is a very smart theologian.

The Orthodox Church - Timothy Kollistos Ware

The Way of a Pilgrim / The Pilgrim continues his way / The Teachings of the Desert and Holy Fathers on the prayer of the interior: Three books in one. No one knows who wrote this book, but it is about the journey of a russian pilgrim 19th century Russia. He is on a journey to achieve the prayer of the Heart. I recommend this book, it will enlighten you more than ever.

Once you read these, atheism will come into your mind and you will start to question Orthodoxy. That's when you should read this book by Blessed Seraphim Rose. It's called Genesis something, i forget the full name.

After that you should read books about the lives of the Saints and the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. This way you will find a Saint whose name you'll take upon yourself on the day of your Baptism.

If you're suspicious about Orthodoxy, and have doubts, know this: People who saw Jesus when he came to Earth, they immediately converted to Christianity (not Orthodoxy, Orthodoxy was established in 33 A.D. [when he died] )

Also know that even I converted without knowing a single thing. You are not making a mistake; and even if you do get fooled and convert to another religion; Orthodoxy ensures that if you're saved once: you're always saved. So do not worry.

If someone challenges you about the Existance of God, don't immediately Change your mind. Talk to people about it. Talk to me about it. I'm really good with arguing against Atheists.... but remember that at the end: people have their own beliefs and there isn't much point of arguing. Everyone walks away at the end.

Try not to argue when you don't know much, you'll make an *** of yourself.

Look at the links and if you have questions ask any of us here, we will provide you with all the answers you need.

take care

Christ be with you.

Hello Umut.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me, but i am already orthodox christian.
May be I was mistaken when asked my question because I’m not english-speaking man.

If you're suspicious about Orthodoxy, and have doubts, know this: People who saw Jesus when he came to Earth, they immediately converted to Christianity (not Orthodoxy, Orthodoxy was established in 33 A.D. [when he died] )

You are quite right. It’s main reason why I’m orthodox christian.
If I correctly understood you, you was born in family of ethnic moslems?

How long you're living in Canada?

Your brother in Christ, Emil
