For Education section on a resume how do I describe that I have been to college but my degree is not complete and is currently on hold but I plan on returning? This college is held in high esteem in the community I'm applying at. Would I just put "In progress" even though I'm not currently enrolled?

I would simply put, So and so college, completed 5 semesters (or whatever you did) of coursework in X degree with a 3.5 GPA. (Don't include your gpa if it isn't good). Then let them ask why you left. I would have a time frame in mind, so that you can say, "I plan on returning to complete my degree within the next three years." or something like that.
