Fine then I will proceed. If it is foolish in your eyes to believe in something coming into existence from nothing, then why not do you find your belief in God coming from nothing and having always existed? You are so quick to say "Where did the matter come from" but why does this same skepticism not plague you in regards to a God? why is it so much more rational to believe in a ever present never created intelligent being yet its not rational to believe in a dense matter that just "existed" without a creator? I see a flaw and wonder how you are able to justify it?
The answer is really simple: It is rational to believe this because it is what God has told us in the Bible.

In this age, God's interaction in world events is not always evident, though I think it's more a case of us being less "in tune" to it than his lack of interaction. But in the early days of the world, his handiwork was much broader, and much more clearly recognizable; such that there could be no mistaking it. There is a reason for this difference...in those days people didn't have "the Word of God," the Bible, through which he has made his existence and nature known to us. It was necessary for God to interact on a sometimes personal and often majestic level to make the connection with people. Now, we do have the Bible because God instructed and inspired people to write about him and his interaction with people. It contains enough information for us to be able to make an intelligent decision about trusting him, and God expects us to make use of it. In his opinion (and his is the only one that matters in the end), he no longer needs to do the "miraculous" types of things.

The Bible is God's Word, telling us how it was, how it is, and how it will be. It's not just a collection of morality tales, but a true history of the world. And Christ's life, death, and resurrection is the proof of it. You would do well to trust it.

That is why it is more rational to believe in a "created" universe than a "big bang" universe. I'd rather take the word of someone who was there and told others about it than the word of today's scientists speculating about what happened.
