  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I wasn't sure where to post this question...
What is the difference between a conservative and a fundamentalist?
I think they are the same thing. I might be wrong. Fundamentalist sound a little stricter but that might just be how it sounds to me.

I think you are right. Basically a conservative, as I see one, is one who wants to keep to God's law and a fundamentalist is one who believes God's law. I think they as basically the same word.

The differences lie in the theologies of God's law. Fundamentalists tend to believe we should follow God's law to perfection. The Fundamentalists I know personally pull themselves as much out of mainstream society as possible to avoid worldliness. Conservatives believe in God's law, but live on more of a Grace theology and are found in many mainstream parts of society. I guess basically the line is drawn between living as close to law as possible withdrawn from the world and living as close to the law as possible while living in the world.
Hope that makes sense.
