Can someone please explain this to me?
But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
It is hard without context, nor do I see what you do not understand.

But from what I see I shall give you how at least I understand it, and pray to the Lord that you to may understand, so that you may follow, and have faith (love the lord with all your heart and with all your soul)

A man, who does not love his wife but cares only for her for sex, causes his wife to run away from him. Clearly it is the mans fault that they get a divorce. But the divorce gives no other man the right to marry the ex-wife.

The purpose:
Love your wife as lf she was your own self, treating her well that she may not run away from you. I guess in your case your husband has an obligation to love you all the days of his life, even as he loves his arm or his leg, for in the same way as if man would use the arm and then cut it off with a blade, so does he have ti this case do with his wife.

A wife is unto a man an extension of himself, and she must be treated with love, trust and caring all the days of their life.

The second part explains, that even when a women leaves a man(not he fault,I know) they still are in the eyes of God married, for they are as one in till death.

So now that he has cut off his arm (throw away his wife), as one can not put it back on to another person. That woman is to remain without the husband in till his death or hers.

Hope that make som sence,I am kinda in a rush,
God Bless,
Datsar

Here is my understanding of the passage Scooby....

Jesus is saying that there is really only 1 valid reason why a person could divorce another, that is for the reason known as "fornication", the Greek word is porneia from which we obviously get the word "pornography"... so we are discussing a sexual sin, and in this case, it means adultery.... now this isn't saying that you must divorce if adultery occurs, God, in the book of Hosea, uses an allegory to show how many times He took back the adulterous Israel in the marriage of Hosea and his adulterous wife Gomer...

the passage is saying that you can divorce, not that you must....

but say someone divorces their spouse for reasons other than adultery... and suppose that person then remarries.... well what will happen is that the person who originally divorced another person for unbiblical grounds (ie not adultery) is now committing adultery against their original spouse by marrying another person, and they will continue to commit adultery as long as they are in that marriage covenant that God did not or does not recognize... and what is worse, is that the person this adulterer marries will likewise be guilty of the continuous sin of adultery as long as they are in an unrecognized marriage covenant.....

Scooby, I ought to also mention that reading the verse in a version other than the King James will help out a lot, here are a few other versions of the same verse:

(Mat 5:32 NKJV) "But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

(Mat 5:32 NIV) But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

(Mat 5:32 NNAS) but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of unchastity, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

hope these help as well.... you can find verses online in translations other than the KJV, if you need links or something, let me know
