  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Would it be wrong for me, a person who is not in the military, to get a bumper sticker that said"my other car is a m1a1 abrams."

I don't want to pretend at all that I am in the military(which is why I am making this thread), but I always thought that my idea of a cutsomized bumper sticker would be cool to put on my car.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm not in the military, but one of my closest friends is in the Marine Corps, and he knows how much I love the Marine Corps and it's history and tradition and everything, and I was one of his biggest supporters back home when he was deployed, he always says he's going to get me a USMC sticker for my car but he knows that I'll be kind of reluctant to put it on my car because I'm not a Marine. BUT he did also buy me a sweatshirt, and I wear that all the time :)

I wouldnt see much wrong with it as long as you wouldnt give the impression that your in. someone wouldprobably ask you at some point or another. But bumper stickers generally are just an expression of how one thinks/feels/likes/wants. I use to have a bumper sticker that said "my ex wife's other car is a broom".

nuff said...:p

One always thinks a country is united. But you just have to be indentifiable with a certain cause to find out if they are not. I imagine you know what the local politcal thinking is, and your own personality as to how you might handle opposition, before you put it on.;)

As a Military Armor wife I can tell you that it more thank likely won't go over very well with those in the Armor branch for it to be there. The fact that you are not be in that branch let alone the Military at all would eat at most. There are hundreds of other stickers and magnets you can get nowadays to show your support for the Military without taking away from something that is meant for a specific branch and MOS (Job). :)

I appreciate your support for your country. Patriotism in this day and age is commendable, but CMWife has a point. Imagine a try for a course, like Parachute Battalion, which many guys don't make the course. I get my parachute wings with much blood, sweat and tears, and then walk out to find a guy who has never done military service wearing a Parchute Battalion T-shirt - to be honest, I would feel quite cheated.:(

I am sure you mean to support the guys. Find a bumper sticker that does just that. Remember, they need you support, and I am sure you will get great blessing out of doing just that.:)
