  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been told that rape is not a crime about sex. Sex is just the instrument of their torture. It is about power and control over the person they have done it too.

Tell her yes, she can still save herself for her husband to be. For she didnt commit a crime (sin), it was done to her. Even though this happened to her, she is still a virgin.

God Bless

There's this girl I know online. She's a Christian and she was raped and wonders if She can still say she's saving herself for marriage. What do I tell her?
She can most certainly still say that she's saving herself for marriage. She didn't willingly have sex. It is not her fault that she was raped. She still has her purity and can save that for her future husband. He can still be the first one who she willingly gives herself to.

She is pure because rape is not the lose of purity no matter what.
Indeed. Since purity is matter of the soul, rape cannot cause the loss of purity -- she is still a virgin.

Saint Augustine has a good discussion of this at http://www.ccel.org/ccel/schaff/npnf102.iv.ii.xix.html (rape was one of the ways in which ancient Romans persecuted Christians, so the Church needed to think about the issue).

(1Jo 4:1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

I never believe Anyone ON-LINE! How do you think that they CATCH THESE CHILD PREDATORS? ? ? ?

The POLICE pose as Minors, and TRAP those unsuspecting ONES, that believe and then open a Sexual Dialogue!

Be careful.....

Thanks, Roger459

Due to this horrible act your friend is no longer a virgin in respects to her physical body. There is nothing that can be done about that.

But her physical virginity is not herself. When we choose to save ourselves for our future spouse we are saveing the act of willfully becomeing physicaly intimate. While she is no longer a virgin, she has not given herself physicaly to anyone.

It is this willful act that brings two togeather as one.
In the case of rape it is one imposing their will on another one. It is not two wills becoming one, but one will destroying the will of another.

While physicaly she is no longer a virgin, in respects to physical intimacy she is still a virgin. Your friend is most certainly still saveing herself .
