well yes I know. Rome concered from Scotland to Africa and close to India, in their territories Spain was part of their Empire, the romans were latinos, so all the people concered by them and mixed in blood with them , the empire lasted about 1,200 years so people from Spain were Latinos, when Spain themselves developed into a huge empired, they had no problems mixing their blood with the conquered people in america, so those hibrids were also latinos in culture from Spain and in blood, even when they looked different but they have latino blood in them. Now Hispanic is a word invented and we shouldnt use it at all. Greenboy

Actually, hispanic is derived from Hispania. Hispania was the name given by the Romans to the whole of the Iberian Pennisula(Spain, Portugal,etc) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispania Personally, I prefer to be called Hispanic because my spanish ancestry.
