Yes, the link amiel posted is the official Adventist stance on the subject.

As SassySDA was pointing out, the belief in a secret rapture followed by a 7-year tribulation comes specifically from Daniel 9:27. I've written up a fairly short essay on the topic that I think will be very helpful to you in understanding the SDA position of the 7-year tribulation and a very clear explaination as to why it simply cannot be so.

im just gonna paste my first two questions:
24. Christ's Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary:
There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle which the Lord set up and not man. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry. It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew sanctuary on the Day of Atonement. In that typical service the sanctuary was cleansed with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things are purified with the perfect sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The investigative judgment reveals to heavenly intelligences who among the dead are asleep in Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have part in the first resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him, therefore, are ready for translation into His everlasting kingdom. This judgment vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. The completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation before the Second Advent. (Heb. 8:1-5; 4:14-16; 9:11-28; 10:19-22; 1:3; 2:16, 17; Dan. 7:9-27; 8:13, 14; 9:24-27; Num. 14:34; Eze. 4:6; Lev. 16; Rev. 14:6, 7; 20:12; 14:12; 22:12.)

and do adventis beileve in the rapture and tribulation? or is it like this all adventis beleves in it or is it that this one beleives in the rapture and stuff but this doesnt also it sounds like that adventis dont beileve ppl that dont go to hell until the judgement is that true? If it is i disagree with it but i agree with every thing else (exept 24 i dont understand it) can i be a adventis if i beleve in hell before the judgement?

Reg, this is one of my favorite questions to answer. However, it's late and I'm tired so I'm going to give you the "quick" answer for now, okay? I apologize, I promise to get more in depth, if you wish, later.

Yes, Adventists believe in a rapture. HOWEVER, rapture simply means to be "caught up". We absolutely know and believe that the righteous will be caught up in the air to meet Christ before the millenial reign with Him. We do not, however, believe it will be secret in any way or that anyone is "left behind" for a 7 year tribulation. In fact, the entire idea of a 7 year tribulation is easily proven false with scripture.

The Bible describes Christ's second coming as the loudest event in the history of the world!! Nothing secret about it at all.

2 Peter 3:10 - But the day of the Lord will come as athief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

"Thief in the night" simply means that nobody knows when He's coming, it will be a surprise as to when, but trust me that we'll all know when He does!!!!

2 Thessalonians 2:8 - And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Nobody is left behind...the righteous go to meet Christ and the wicked are slain...dead. They are resurrected 1,000 years after the resurrection of the righteous.

Revelation 20:5 - But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

We believe in a tribulation, but one that we will be here for. God protects His people through tribulations, not from them. (Noah wasn't taken away from the tribulation of the flood, but he was protected through it, etc.) That's why we're to pray that we do not receive the plagues in the end. God will protect us.

There's an excellent verse in Isaiah (like I said, it's late so I won't be able to look up all the scripture for now) that says we see Christ coming while we are present for the tribulation. I'm paraphrasing but it says something like "There is our God, we have been waiting for Him and He will save us."

Reg, as to the last part of your question about being able to be Adventist if you disagree with our beliefs on hell....I don't know how to answer that. I would like to talk to you about our beliefs in regard to the subject of hell unless you have shut your mind off to the whole idea already????

I've done some extensive research into the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man etc and I'd love to share that with you if you're interested at all.

The Bible says hell rains down from heaven after Judgment Day and it destroys the earth we inhabit today...it burns away and the earth is made new. An earth without sin. We all know this planet hasn't been destroyed YET, right?

It's up to you but I'd love to discuss the subject of hellfire with you another time!

2 Peter 2:9 - The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to RESERVE the unjust unto (until) the day of judgment to be punished:

God bless!!!!

What TrustandObey stated is the church's official stance on this subject.

While we (the Adventist church) fully believe there will be tribulation as the second coming of Christ draws near, we see nothing in the scriptures that indicate it will be 7 years long, or that Christians will be spared from it, or that a secret rapture will occur, or that there will be a 1,000 year reign with Christ here on earth.

If you click on those two links TrustAndObey gave you in her post you'll see why we believe the way we do.

Was I able to answer your question? Sometimes I blabber. :)
