This might sound stupid, but why does Satan still try to oppose God when he knows that he will be defeated?

Hello!
Are you saying that God made Satan to do evil and that he couldn't do good if he wanted to because God wants him to do evil? Would a good God want someone to do evil or make it so that someone cannot do good?
Not saying that you believe this, but doesn't that lend support that God created evil when He created Lucifer?Crazy Liz said:No. Look at Satan's role in Job. It is not necessarily evil, but it is adversarial and accusatory.

If God created Lucifer just to be the adversary or the "devils advocate" doesn't that mean that God created evil or created sin in other words?Crazy Liz said:Huh?![]()
I guess that would require a more precise definition of SIN and of EVIL.Sword-In-Hand said:If God created Lucifer just to be the adversary or the "devils advocate" doesn't that mean that God created evil or created sin in other words?
the first thing that popped into my mind is that Satan is NOT all knowing.kiwiekat said:This might sound stupid, but why does Satan still try to oppose God when he knows that he will be defeated?
For many years I had an aunt who was a satanist. I can tell you from experience that satan CAN still bug us. Even the Bible says that we have to watch out for him because he is looking for ways to trip us up. satan hates it when his kingdom is threated because he thinks that if he can get Christians to deny Christ, it will cause other Christians to fall, too. They can't hurt us without God's permission, but they can make us mighty unhappy if they feel threatened.kiwiekat said:Oh ok...
I am also wondering, what do demons do to Christians? I mean, Christians don't get demon possessed, but I knew someone who was trying to help someone become a Christian, so the Christian broke the person's idol, and than she was bothered by demons in weird ways. Why did that happen? Has anyone else have a similar experience?
Thanks!
