Question to Courting Couples

So I have to ask... how did you meet your SO? Coming from the singles side of things I want to meet a nice Christian gal and hopefully hit things off... MY church is out of the question as there are only a few people in my age range and they are all married... Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? I mean anyone can go to a "club" and meet someone but I want to meet someone genuine, faithful, and well a Christian.

Your thoughts, advice, comments, questions, and concerns are all welcomed!

I met my fiance' at school in the student center through a mutual friend...there are so many places to meet people now, church is not the only place! It's a good starting place but isn't the only spot! There are coffeehouses, campus fellowships, libraries, amusement parks, plays, concerts, etc...concentrate on YOU...I find that when you do that, the person you're supposed to be with is usually right up under your nose!

I met my SO on a louge, under a tree, at 7am on a Saturday morning. We had mutual friends for years before randomly meeting. He actually spoke to me on a dance music forum first, and saw me out before that though.

Poor boy, he never had a chance of getting away unscathed.

but if you want to meet someone just keep living your life dude and try to meet people - guys and girls. If if you don't meet her in your initial circle of friends at school/work/etc... you never know when a friend may introduce you to the girl of your dreams

but yeah there are a million ways to meet someone so just keep living your life and trusting God. It may not sound like the best advice to find someone but i dunno about you but I feel alot better when its God in control of my love life

Match.com is a great site. It lets you date alot-- so it is a real confidence boosters.

I don't have a SO at the moment, but that might be changing soon. I've met past SOs from eharmony, lately Christian mingle, and also at dance lessons put on by a Christian. The church where I'm a member does not have many (if any) singles in my age range. I often attend single's events at another church, but that has never resulted in a date, but certainly some nice acquaintances.

If you don't want to try the online route, I would suggest looking up a big church and see about some single events. Most of the time they have them on days other than Sundays or after church, so you don't have to give up your own church.

I was very very sheltered because of a bad home life and unable to escape it. I never went out or had any friends. God let me see my now boyfriend after he moved to my school, but I never spoke to him no matter how many times he tried talking to me. So he brought him right into my house and into my room. My now boyfriend was at my house for my older brother's computer gaming party, and Dustin came right into my room and started talking to me about God. He helped me so much, and it was evident from the first time we talked we had a connection. A year later, not wanting to ruin anything and not sure if we should break our "non dating" rule.. we finally decided to be in a relationship that extended further than "just friends". We've been together nearly 8 months now. It has flown by, its been hard, but I love him so much and can't imagine at this poitn anything breaking us up. He is so special. I've never had anyone in my life treat me so wonderfullly and love me so much. He was my first best friend in my life and for that I will always love him. I couldn't have ever asked fro anyone more perfect for me.

3 People have already said to use a christian dating service. I would say that whatever else you do you would do that. The secret to success on a dating service is to write, write, write,that is the only way to get a dialog going.

So I strongly recommend you try one of the larger christian dating sites.​

the story of how i met my SO is what I call a Boaz and Ruth love story. Last year I was at a racetrack with the ambualnce I run with when we had a bad sprint car crash. The driver needed to be flown out and was stuck in the sprint car. The race track crew had to call in the local firecompany to assist on the call. My SO was driving the ambulance that was brought in to transfer the pt out to the landing zone. He tells me he pulled up got out and seen me taking care of my pt. He was attracted to me for being a caring person and he thought I was cute. We came very close to meeting because I rode with the pt to the landing zone, But it was not God's will for us to meet. In Jan of this year a mutual friend from the track kept bugging both of us saying she wanted us to meet. I was alittle unsure about getting into a relationship in the middle of paramedic school, but I met him in Feb and we have been seeing each other since. We were engaged in may and to be married next may. He tells me before he met me he was not goign to get married at all, but I changed his mind about marriage. When I asked him how I did that he said it was just me being myself and the more he was around me he just wanted us to be together for the rest of our lives.
