The thread on Calvinism got closed, a thread I started on Calvinism debating trchniques is gone...

This is from the category description:
Protestant/ Reformed/Evangelical Room (4 Viewing)
A place for Christians to discuss Protestantism, Reformed and Evangelical Christian issues. Please note new forum-specific rules

Is this implying that all Protestants are Calvinists? That can't be, and I'd opt to say the majority in fact are not.
Just a suggestion but from the way these threads seem to go, perhaps the Reformed could have their own category...after all, isn't that what Reformed does, split off?

No.

Why would you "opt to say" that? Have you ever looked into it? I agree that the majority of Protestants are not Calvinists but I have studied it. I'm just curious if you have.

You're confusing "Reformed" with "Revolutionist."

A thread here on Calvinism, closed...seems like they all get closed...and another that got deleted...

Reformationist
Oh yes, I've looked into it....Calvin, Cauvin, Desperville, Jerome Bolsec, etc...etc...ad nauseam...

Have to disagree, Reformed churches, by their very nature, have to keep reforming...
I've learned to be very gun shy around the terms Reformed, covenental, predestination, and preterist....

At this point I'm not sure what you mean by "keep reforming" but let me assure you that, as fallible creatures, we should be semper reformanda. We should always be examining our church's beliefs and practices to assure that we are presenting the Truth of the Gospel. If we are not, then we should "reform."

What I thought was inappropriate was your use of the term "split off." Reformed churches don't "split off" and the implication you make is that when we see something we don't like we just start our own church. This may not have been your intent but the implication is there nonetheless.

I've learned to be very gun shy around the terms Reformed, covenental, predestination, and preterist....

Whether or not you are "gun shy" around certain terms is of little relevence when considering the biblical accuracy of reformed doctrine. I myself tend to be a bit shy around the term "free will" because the understanding of man's will is rarely taken in consideration with his natural, inherent, consuming enmity against God.

God bless
