While it is commonly assumed by many in the states to speculate on the significance of the creation of the state of Israel, I wonder what take the messianic jew would have on this.

I'm not Jewish, my DH is but he rarely is on the internet and never this forum.... but

Historically the upsurge in Jewish people turning to Messiah Yeshua started right after the 67 war (i.e. Haight Asbury, Jesus Freaks and Fink's Zoo) when the whole of Jerusalem was reunited as the whole capital of Israel and the Temple Mount was retrieved from the hands of the Muslims (granted Israel practically gave it back to them...) these events in many minds signaled the beginning of the end of the "times of the Gentiles" and thus one of the great "ticks" of G-d's clock..... just exactly where the hands actually are one can't tell, but they are much closer to "12" than they were before 1948...

In my experience those who are righteous G-d-fearers among them seek daily to T'kun Olam - repair the world - to bring more of G-d into their daily lives and those of others and thus hasten the coming of Messiah - but they usually leave off speculating on the timing and leave that wisely up to HaShem/G-d

I was 5 when we would go the the be-ins at the Haight in '68.
I also remember the Jesus freaks.
Fink's zoo, I never heard of...tell me about it.

There are a few items that I noticed about the post 48 world.
The mechanism had by then created for the self determination of national groups, making possible the creation of many new states for ancient groups like the Armenians, The Kurds, and others.
