Question on poetry...

I have a question...many of my poems are always short and don't really have rhymes..I know they dont need rhymes but are they better with or without?

I like poems better with rhymes, but I write both.

It depends on the style of your poetry. Rhymes can work very well, often if your poems have some element of whimsy to them. But even if they are very serious they can still work. Usually, though, I see a lot more poems that don't rhyme than do.

yeah I don't think either way is better or worse, they're both good if well written. It's probably harder to write a rhyming poem though.

Poems can be written with or without ryhme or reason...some poems need ryhme...but some others are excellent in their own way without it.

You need only go with instinct
- That with which you're born;
That with which you live.
Some poems they can rhyme;
While others have no rhyme at all;
But a reason must they have,
And a sort of rhythm.
Even if the reason be no less,
Even if it seems 'stupid'
Than to convey an image or time;
Bleed, with word, emotion or thought.
Clarity is not an issue quite;
And neither is the grammer.
All that is at stake, all that is risked
Is not more than a moment's written bliss.

Dear Acickea

It all depends on you, poetry is not about me, nor anybody else. Do what the poem needs.

I love haiku, btw, works very well with English which is so full of small words
