  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dark Energy, Dark Matter - NASA Science

But the most common view is that dark matter is not baryonic at all, but that it is made up of other, more exotic particles like axions or WIMPS (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles).

Right, it's just purely my imagination that NASA along with astronomers have been claiming for years that most of the matter in the universe is found in WIMPS (SUSY particles) or axions, neither of which enjoy *any* empirical support in the lab.

"Charge," yelled Quixote.

Denial is an ugly thing:

Dark Matter Possibly Found by $2 Billion Space Station Experiment | AMS | Space.com

Astronomers keep pointing at the sky claiming WIMPS did it, long after, and in spite of the failures at LHC, so it's not like the failures this year at LUX or with electron roundness are likely to change their views about exotic forms of matter anytime soon. Assuming they eventually do change, they'll just substitute one type of supernatural construct with another. :(

You forgot to mention SUSY in your post.

And yet they constantly omit the one source most likely to be the cause, the solar wind itself. As we know from Voyager 1 data, the solar wind comes to a complete stop at the heliopause, to which an electric field is the only possible explanation. This fits with the double layer theory separating the sun from the galactic environment. This is also the most likely source of the microwave background, being that charged particles must emit radiation when braked to a stop

Bremsstrahlung - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"
Bremsstrahlung (German pronunciation: [ˈbʁɛmsˌʃtʁaːlʊŋ] ( listen), from bremsen "to brake" and Strahlung "radiation", i.e. "braking radiation" or "deceleration radiation") is electromagnetic radiation produced by the deceleration of a charged particle when deflected by another charged particle, typically an electron by an atomic nucleus. The moving particle loses kinetic energy, which is converted into a photon because energy is conserved. The term is also used to refer to the process of producing the radiation. Bremsstrahlung has a continuous spectrum, which becomes more intense and whose peak intensity shifts toward higher frequencies as the change of the energy of the accelerated particles increases.

Strictly speaking, braking radiation is any radiation due to the acceleration of a charged particle, which includes synchrotron radiation, cyclotron radiation, and the emission of electrons and positrons during beta decay. However, the term is frequently used in the more narrow sense of radiation from electrons (from whatever source) slowing in matter.

Bremsstrahlung emitted from plasma is sometimes referred to as free-free radiation. This refers to the fact that the radiation in this case is created by charged particles that are free both before and after the deflection (acceleration) that caused the emission."

Unlike conventional theory thought, the charged particles of the solar wind did not veer sideways, but instead came to a complete halt. So we can no longer rely on mainstream theory to explain anything observed in space. And only one thing brakes and accelerates charged particles, and this is an electric field. It is what is used in particle accelerators and is the only known experimental way of doing so.

But of course astronomical theorists have a tendency to ignore experimental evidence in favor of Fairie Dust.

The faithful squire Sancho Panza hands Don Quixote a lance, and cheers as Quixote charges yet another windmill. OLE!!

Ya, it's all our fault that your invisible supernatural friends are entirely impotent in the lab and they consistently fail every single test they're put to in the lab. :)

Don Quixote levels his lance, then spurs his horse, "CHARGE!!!!".

Just want to point out something from earlier in the thread:

That's different from the real science. The real science is here and now. Building computer, building bridges, cars, tech, etc.. I'm talking about real science. not faith.

All of what you're describing is engineering, not science per se.

When you are Don Quixote, every thread is about plasma.

I suppose that explains why you keep yacking away about plasma when I've been talking about the recent string of spectacular failures of SUSY theory and the unfalsifiable aspects of string theory in general Don. ;)

Don Quixote, we already have threads full of windmills. No need to draw this one off topic as well.
