Question on age differences in relationships

This just reminded me of a time in my jr. year in high school (i was 17) when this guy who was 3 years younger liked me from my youth group. He asked me out saying, "I know there is a big difference in our ages, but I was wondering if you would want to go out sometime"...I was the first girl he asked out.

I should hope if you said this to her she would not reply, "I think you are a great guy , but I just think the age difference is too much. I would still like us to be friends though ok?"

Sheesh...I had no IDEA how to respond and I was hoping he would not ask. He told all my friends that he planned to ask me out and that he wanted to take a walk with me so he could kiss me (the poor thing). I asked my friends to please make it clear I was too old for him and he should NOT ask, but as much as they tried he was one determined little fella. hehe

Now he is all grown up looking and cute. Yet, still 3 years younger. Oh well! He'll be 21 in 3 years...hehe j/k. just thought i'd share my story.

I was 20 when I married my 23 year old bride.

At first she wasn't to keen about dating me since I was only 19 at the time. But I won her over.

I am four years older than my wife. She was 19 and I was 23 when we were married. Her parents were 9 years apart. After you become an adult(something that happens later for some people than others) age is somewhat relative. There is certainly no scripture against those with an age difference being together.

I once dated a man who was 6 years older than me, and things did not work out at all. Our priorities were very different, among other problems.

But my husband, who is perfect for me, is 9 years older than me. Other than teasing him about being so ancient, we get along just fine.

My suggestion is to walk right up to her after Sunday school and ask her to lunch. If she can't make it, say "How about tomorrow? Or the next day?" Then just be yourself! (What a cliche, I know, but it works. )
