Alright, I attend a youth group on tuesday nights. And every week we have a question to answer online for the pastor. and the great thing is, we can invite any one to answer as well! ( plus it gets my team points )
So i ask you all to awnser it on here so I can post your answers on the question.
What are some of the works that proves your faith is real?

What are some of the works that proves your faith is real?

and remember ... I'm long-winded ...

I have a saying ... show me your faith and I'll show you your works ... by this I mean it's like having faith (I like the term faitheing) is required in many ways that aren't even visible ...

like the women who has faith that her children will come to the Lord ... her works of constant, unceasing prayer follow the works ... and through the works of prayer she gains faith ...

or the one who lies in a bed dying of Hodkins ... at the mercy of whomsoever will come to help ... he has no family or money or means or insurance ... well, he must lay there in faith that the Lord will send someone ... and when the Lord does his works are gratitude ... from what one has to offer the Lord requires no more ...

then you have one with much, money, friends, fame, etc. ... people judge this one constantly, spreading slander and malicious this and thats ... the person is seemingly indifferent to their actions and never tries to justify himself ... this one leaves his comfort zone in the night when no one knows and goes and serves the broken, the fatherless, the orphans ... this one gives money where it will do the most good ... he walks in faith that he is serving the Lord and that the Lord will justify him ... and so his works follow his faith ...

many scenarios, but our actions ... visible to the world or not ... show our faith ... they can't help but do so ... because faith comes from the Lord ... what do we answer to the one who says what do ye mean by ye of little faith ... we should answer 'ask Him for more' ...

and remember with what measure He gives is with what measure He expects ... little faith or much faith He expects to see something ...

My friend Linda was dead. She was kept alive by machines, but her brain showed no activity for four days. But 20 days later, God had healed her and she walked out of the hospital. The doctors are still scratching their heads.

For me, the supernatural ability to speak in tongues is a huge proof for me.

And God also gave us a car. Our vehicle literally blew up a year ago. We prayed for provision, and someone gave us a car. We didn't know them, and still don't know much about them, except they are one of my husband's occupational therapist's cousin's neighbor. (did you follow that?) But the car, though it's 23 years old, only had 30,000 miles on it.

The Baptist church historian Bruce Shelly has a book on this that he wrote in his younger days.... I forget the name of it, but it is in my library somewhere. Basically, he sets out that it is by the evidence of how we live our lives... going to church, praying, giving money to God, etc.

However, Pentecostals rely a lot on Romans 8:16. A point comes when there is an inner witness that our faith is real.

However, I tend to rely on Titus 2:11,12 -- For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. Or that is -- if we see the Holy Spirit working in our lives to help us overcome sin and worldly ways and to move on to godliness, then we are the real thing. It is the Holy Spirit that makes our faith real.

I think you all misunderstood this post a little. What needs to be posted are the works that YOU do as a person as part of your faith. Sorry i didnt explain it clear enopugh.

Well, a while back, a noisy kind of insect made its home in our garden. It made a very loud buzzing kind of sound that started annoying me soon. Instead of trying to find the culprit would be near impossible, because of the size of our garden, as well as the stealthy habits of this type of insect. So, the Spirit reminded me of the ability that we Christians have to speak things in faith, and see them materialize. I plainly declared the insect dead, in the name of our Lord - and it was silenced permanently.

It reminds me of something similar that happened years ago - only on a much larger scale.

I believe I show my faith every morning I get on the bus, I have never met the driver before and the bus has no seat belts, but I have the faith in God that he will deliver me to my destination safely.

There are good works that show you are a good member of humanity common to lots of people charity etc. For me doing those is just my humanity and responsibility to others.

The tell tale sign of my faith is the way I stand on it and tell it to others. I have faith that Jesus can change lives. Prayer is my other sign of faith because I know the Holy spirit Exists and long to union with it

well, I guess count me out ... Matthew 6:1 ...

The tell tale sign of my faith is the way I stand on it and tell it to others. I have faith that Jesus can change lives. Prayer is my other sign of faith because I know the Holy spirit Exists and long to union with it

Sorry to be late on this thread GB. Thank you for giving us the oportunity to walk along with you as family in Christ.

The works that proves my faith is real is praying to God daily and calling on the name of Jesus.
My faith is based on the word of God being truth. The more I know about Him, the more I can learn to be like Him. The more I follow His word the more my faith grows.
