Question for ZooMom

Hi, I just read your post on the Left Behind MB in the Narrow Road forum. I'm Catholic and I saw that you also go to Rapture Ready. I whole-heartedly believe in the rapture but I find that my priest doesn't. He talks of the second coming which I believe is separate from the rapture. My question is does your diocese or church preach about the rapture? I've tried to quote Bible verses that support the rapture and he thinks I'm taking the Bible too literally. Now, I'm not complaining or trying to speak badly of the man. I think he is wonderful but I have a real problem with this. If anyone else can help, I'd appreciate it also.

Yes, I am a registered user at RR. I seldom post over there though. And never in the 'Rapture' threads. In fact, I don't even read 'Rapture' threads. The entire subject holds absolutely no interest for me. You will not (or should not) find it taught in any Catholic Church because it is not part of Church Doctrine. I haven't studied it myself, but I have seen other well-learned Catholics say that the Church has no official Doctrine regarding 'end-times' theories. I don't believe in a 'Rapture' as far as it was described in the LB books. I believe that Christ will come for His Church at His Second Coming. But as to how it will actually happen, I have no clue. And as I said before I'm really not curious about it.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. There are considerable resources online that might have some more detailed Catholic views on eschatology. As far as I know you are pretty much free to believe as you like regarding 'end-times' as long as your view doesn't directly go against established Doctrine.

I also wanted to say welcome! There are many wonderful Catholics here who know tons more than I do. I'm sure someone will pop in with a bit more info or source for you to check out.

KC, Kotton, and Wols all go to RR as well, and probably others that I'm not aware of. You can't do better than these guys for reliable info.

Sorry to butt in....

I don't care much for any of the "rapture" ideas, having had that and a host of other things shoved down my throat as a child, but.... I've heard that Dr. Scott Hahn has an excellent tape series on the End Times, Rapture, 2nd Coming, etc. I've been meaning to check them out.
