I see , so you expect God to intervene when someone sins against someone else , but not to intervene when you sin against someone or force His Lorship on you .

Please explain how it can be both ways .

You cant both have the will to choose what you do , to accept or Reject God and His teachings , and also blame God for not intervening while you refuse His intrusion into your life and make yourself your own judge .

I don't expect anything. You asked a question about someone being responsible for someone else acting in their name. I answered it.

I don't blame god for anything; I don't believe he exists. I merely point out that IF the christian god exists, yes, he is responsible for every bad thing that is done in his name, since he could easily stop it.

He doesn't do it any more. He has only ever done it three times, his mother walked in on him the third time and his father beat him horrifically for it. Stupidly, I was shocked by his sin and called off our engagement but when I realised how much I'd hurt him and how desperately sorry he was for what he did we made up. Unfortunately our priest said he wouldn't marry us until my fiance was without that sin for a year and now my father is making it worse by saying unless we agree to some pretty terrible conditions to our married life he won't give his blessing to let us wed, which means we're having to wait until my 18th birthday when I don't need it.
I think we're both ready for marriage but unfortunately other people don't see it that way.

The thread about whether or not you would allow your teens to have sex in your house got me thinking, so I wanted to start another thread.

I have heard of parents who keep a close check on whether or not their teens touch. I have heard stories of young men whose parents have punished them severely after being caught in the act.

So this question is to those of you who do/will expect their kids to abstain from sex until marriage. Do you/will you also teach your children not to touch and, if so, would you punish them if you caught them doing it?

I encourage them to explore and learn their own body before attempting to play with anyone elses

I think that is wise. I would much prefer my young teen to touch than experiment with their boy/girlfriend!

I encourage abstinence, but would never act a spy on their privet lives...

I have given them tha Catholic cathekes, were they can read about masturbation being a sin, and we can talk about it.

But "punish" - no! If they sin, or reather "when", as we are all sinners, it is between them and God, and their confession father.

It is not my business...

We were very open about sex and relationships with our children, now all adults. As far as I am aware they did not enter into sexual relationships until they were 18+
