  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If a girl tells you that she likes you and wants to pursue a relationship but for whatever reason you aren't interested, do you think she ever gets over those feelings and stops liking you in that way or do you think about the fact that she likes you every time you see her?
I'm asking what your personal opinion and perceptions are.

I think she will get over it, and start looking for somebody who does have romantic feelings for her.

Though I'm not a woman, that's how it is with me. If someone I'm interested in tells me that she isn't interested in me, I lose interest in her. Granted, people are different... so I don't claim to speak for everyone.

I assume she still has the feelings unless she otherwise shows it somehow, like if she got a boyfriend or something like that.

Why is it men think you are all into them until you are dating again? Most girls lick their wounds for a bit and once they are rejected they are over it.

Actually, in all my experience, every girl I rejected has still shown interest in me, even after they got boyfriends. I'm not saying this is true in every case because it's certainly not, but in my life it's been this way.

Now, that's not saying I always suspect it to be that way. I try not to assume anything until I know for sure.

Heartbreak is hard thing. Nothing anyone said has ever made me feel better. And yes, you will get over it. But he will see you differently. Maybe he just hasn't thought about it hard enouph. Or maybe it will never work. I envy you for the risk you took by telling him. Few people can ever do that. What ever happens, happens. But now you know. As I said, you will move on. If he doesn't want you, than he doesn't know what he is missing. Good for you.

I wasn't exactly obsessing although I might have been slightly too needy. He didn't seem to be put off by it though and I did warn him about it when we became friends.

Exactly! Do they honestly think that we're going to sit around waiting for them to change their minds?

Probably depends on the people. I got rejected by a girl from church in April. Even though I got rejected, I still like her even now though I'm forced to hide those feelings. I think the same could be said for the other sex too.

I only told him because he had given signs that he was also interested. He didn't actually say that he wasn't interested, timing was bad so he couldn't decide then. I held onto hope that something might happen but then I just pushed too much and although he hasn't spoken to me much at all since then because of circumstances I'm assuming that any chance of friendship has gone.
I know that doesn't make much sense but I can't go into the whole thing.

i would continue thinking that she still likes me when i see her because i know women's feelings don't disappear overnight.
