  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What consitutes a "starving" pet? There are times when my pet is somewhat hungry, (40% or under) and otherwise in good health, and my PM box will be flooded with pms from CFPR who believe that it is their duty to "save" my perfectly fine pet.
My life is busy, and I don't always have time to keep my pet perfectly fed and happy. I have done a relatively good job, yet there have been several instances where I have gone back online after an unwilling absence (computer breaks down, ect.) to be greeting with a full PM box and 20+ PMs from people feeding my pet. No doubt these were well-intentioned, but rather annoying. (What's the point in feeding my pet 5 chickens in as many minutes?)
Don't get me wrong, I do apprectiate the efforts of the CFPR, but it seems to me that at times they are overzealous. Is there anything that can be done?
I apologize if I sound bitter, but this issue, while not serious, is one that has been annoying me (and a few other people I've talked to) for some time now.

Well, if the user is online or has been within the last day or so CFPRs are not supposed to feed the pet unless it is at 90% hunger

We are specifically told by Dr CF to give users a chance to feed the pets on their own.

If you are having a problem with CFPRs not doing so, you can feel free to PM our overseer, Dr CF about it. :)

Thanks for taking good care of your sweet kitty

sometimes people can't be on every day though...

and I know that you give the people a chance to feed their pets. CFPRs have said, "I'm giving you a chance to feed your pet." ^_^

Thank you

I am sorry that this has happened. The pet rescue team does not mean to harass or intimidate anyone. As CFPR7 said, you may forward harassing PMs to DoctorCF. As far as fedding pets go, if I see a pet 100% hungry with no health I'll usually give it two health injections, and about 3 chickens and I'll play with it. Unfortunately everytime we interact with the pets, each click causes a PM to be sent to your inbox unless you have disabled that feature. I can only speak for what I do in general, and not for everyone else. I usually think I'm doing a good deed for someone who might be busy or ill or having computer problems. It's never meant to be malicious or annoying, but if you find it so, you can point out any offensive actions to DocorCF. That should remedy the situation.

Yes, in my case I just found a pet whose owner was on this morning...but their pet was at 100% hunger level and the health was failing. At that point I stepped in and felt bad for the pet and gave it health injections and fed it a few chickens. At 100% hunger and failing health, for each thing I do or give to it, it will promote a new PM. Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about that. Like bee said, there is a way you can turn off a notification PM about Pets. So maybe that will be helpful. Just know that we all modified our guidelines and we are only suppose to feed pets who are at 90% hunger or more...that is why I went ahead and fed that other pet.

Tariel - I think you can disable the notification in your User control panel so that you don't get PM's every time something is done with, for or to your pet :) Maybe one of the CFPRs can tell you where it is :)

The CF Pet Rescuers are not suppose to feed a pet unless the owner has not been logged in for at least 30 days. We do our very best to go by these rules. We are merely here to help out the pets, not to intimadate the owners. As stated before you can always PM Doctor CF.

But if the owner hasn't logged on for 30 days, the pet would be long dead.
