  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What was the primary reason for you to turn to the catholic faith? I have been a catholic for almost two years. Back in 1999 I was reading about church history which led me to read about catholicism. The more I studied, the more I learn of the presence of the body and in blood in the Eucharist. I was then hooked, I then knew that I had to take communion in a catholic church. It is such a privledge to do this. I thank God every Sunday for me to take part in the Eucharist.

God Bless,
BaLou

I am technically a revert, but after many years away from the Church (I would say my whole life actually) I returned to Catholicism under similar circumstances: I found out about the body and blood of Christ being truely the Blessed Sacrament.

Basically, someone showed me John 6:50+ and I didn't know that that was even in the bible! 16 years of being a Catholic without knowing that!

I though we were basing everything on "do this in memory of me". When I learnt about John 6 I was amazed and everything fell into place from there.

What was the primary reason for you to turn to the catholic faith?

The Bible. I was convinced in faith and works, the establishment of a Church with authority and protection from error, confession of sins, and the Eucharist being real, all from the Gospel.
