Question for anti-evolutionists

For argument's sake, if you could one day be convinced that evolution and common descent are a biological reality, would you therefore feel obliged to give up your Christian faith?

Jesus has proved Himself real to me in many many ways. While I would struggle with reconciling Scripture with evolution, He is life -- where else would I go?

(BTW - I don't particularly like the term "anti-evolutionist" -- its not that I am anti evolution as much as it is that I am pro Scripture, pro flood evidence, etc.)

Forgive me, but I cannot think of a better term to use. I, too, am pro-Scripture, but that does not make me discredit evolution. It strikes me that despite their various beliefs, what unites IDists, YECs, OECs, YBCs, and XYZs is a common agreement that biological evolution is false, be it for supposed biblical or scientific reasons. Therefore, it strikes me that 'anti-evolutionists' or 'evolution-deniers' would be an appropriate term to use.

I guess I wouldn't. But the good news would not be quite as good. I would have to believe in two entirely different kinds of paradise without death -- the one I am promised and the one Adam had.

I've never gotten the whole animal death deal either. Dogs die therefore God sucks? No way. Besides, just because creationists make a ruckus about animal death before sin doesn't mean they're willing to do anything about animal death today.

Not exactly. Its more like, if a god said dogs didn't die in paradise and then we found out this was untrue, god would suck. Is that a ruckus?

Do you believe that the only reason dogs die today is because Adam and Eve sinned by imbibing a contraband complex carbohydrate? I'm not sure that you subscribe to the "no death before the fall" (among animals -- apparently plants don't count?)

So tell me, where in Scripture has God said that animals would not die in a perfect world? And can you convince me that you really care?
