I've been going to the United Methodist church near my house for a while now & I LOVE it. I was curious though, would anyone be interested in being an online bible study partner/pen pal of mine? I could definitely use more mentors in my online life to help me grow in my walk of faith & I would gladly welcome more believers to grow in fellowship with (Those in United Methodist faith). The online bible study could be once a week to begin & maybe twice a week after some time passes & our conversations other than that would be based on scripture, the United Methodist faith & general advice. If anybody has the time & is serious please send me a private message & please no negativity I do have an awesome mentor, close Christian friends & great faith influences in my life but I'm only trying to grow in positive ways with a humble attitude & figured it wouldn't hurt to increase my faith based interactions online. Thank you in advance & God bless!

You know we actually used to do some of that right here in the forum. The problem has been consistency more than interest. Do you think a Bible study thread would be able to provide you with what you are looking for?

Yeah that actually is a very good idea since the level of convenience would be high for all participating with me. They would already be on the website so it would be easier & smoother for all included. I haven't really done any online bible studies before so I wouldn't know how to facilitate it or anything so if somebody with much more experience with online bible studies played that role I would have no problems at all following instructions & participating in response.

I'd be all over that. If a forum thread doesn't work well, we could also consider alternative ways to make it work. Including Google hangouts, or even putting together a Facebook group or something similar.

I never tire of discussing faith with like-minded or semi-like-minded people. Whether Clergy Colleagues who are phD educated with a lifetime of ministry behind them or band new convert laypeople eager to learn more and yet somehow always so full of knowledge and experience themselves.

Sign me up, and tell me what I can do to help make it happen. I've also got plenty of books and resources in my office, some mine, some previous Pastors that had piled up and collected dust over the years after being used! Almost everything Adam Hamilton has ever written is in my office (Adam Hamilton is a prominent present-day United Methodist author and Pastor of the largest church in the UMC, which he himself founded. He tends to be very wesleyan, and center, left-of-center, or right-of-center depending on the book you read)
