It is implied that paradise is Abraham's Bosom. The Lord told the thief on the cross that they would meet "today" in paradise. And we also know that the Lord in His death went to the heart of the earth as the sign of Jonah. So that puts Paradise in the heart of the earth. But because of tradition, this is not what everyone wants to hear, so it is not believed.

There is confusion between "Hades", which is translated as "Hell" by the King James Version, and the eternal Lake of Fire. But Hell can't be the Lake of Fire because Hell is tossed into the Lake of fire in Rev 20:14. So if Hell and the Lake of Fire are the same how can one be tossed into the other?

The way I see it, Death collects, and Hades holds, but the Lord now has the keys to both so we have nothing to fear. He has ascended to the Number 1 position in the universe with all authority. You want Him on your team, so to speak.

At the final judgement all negative things get tossed into the Lake of Fire, including Death and "Hell." The Lake of Fire is the eternal trash can of the universe.

OK, hope this doesn't sound shallow, but I'm a little mixed up on something. In one chapter of the Bible, Jesus says on the cross to the man dying next to him that he will "see you today in paradise". Well, in another chapter it says Jesus went to hell for three days. If he went to hell, how could he see him in heaven? Does he mean he'll see Jesus as God? Just a little confused:confused: .....please explain.
Well, I don't know about all this rotting ressurected bodies and levels of hell and stuff, but this verse never confused me. He is telling the man that today, the man will be with him. Since the man dying and going to heaven eternally, and time has no meaning outside of our world, he will see Jesus in paradise today, even if Jesus on the cross is going somewhere else just then. And anyways, God is everywhere and Jesus is God. Actually, now that I typed that out it does seem confusing. But I understand it...
