Question about this section

Cell groups are typically meetings in homes to study messages given at their "mother church" on Lord's Day. House churches are usually just non-denom. gatherings of Christians who don't want man's structure, and seek to just gather with others of faith for discussions and worship.

They must have been lumped togeather just to make it easier for the forum.
Probably not much traffic on either topic. As house churches could fit under the
non-dom part of the forum.

Even in house churches, there are some that operate (that I've experienced) more like the book of Acts, which the people would share together and grow together being led by the SPIRIT.

Other house churches I've seen sadly act just like an institutional church with order of service, and a pastor/leader doing all the talking and a set time for service - yuck!

So, it depends if JESUS gets to run HIS CHURCH or if man controls it, no matter where you have it.

House Church can be just that: A Church in a house. Might be under the covering of a denomination or church network or might be non-denominational. This doesn't necessarily have much to do with typical "cell groups" but there can be overlapping principles.

A House Church can also be a another name for a church plant. The current church I work at has over 700 people in attendance on Sundays. We own our building too. However, the church began in a house with a core group of 7-10 people.

Cell Groups are a synonym for small groups or vice-versa. They are home meetings of 6-15 people ideally. Typically, cell groups are under the banner of a church that meets for celebration services with everyone on Sundays.
