1 cor 1:27 "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.…"because they are more ignorant about a subject than you are.
I have read the Bible at least 5 times. I have a photo of the wore out Bibles to prove it. How many times have you read the Bible?you've never actually depicted the level of understanding the bible one would expect of a person that has actually dedicated time to studying it.
There is a distinct difference between reading and studying. I am reasonably certain I have not read the Bible even once. I deliberately missed out all the begats. On the other hand, I have studied portions of it in detail.I have read the Bible at least 5 times. I have a photo of the wore out Bibles to prove it. How many times have you read the Bible?
All you have to do is get rid of your TV. I put mine in my closet and I found out that I had plenty of time to read the Bible. We need the Holy Spirit of God to guide us and lead us into the truth. God helps us to understand what we are reading if we pray and ask for understanding.Few people can have applied that to the entire Bible, unless it was their profession.
I notice you repeat that you have read the Bible and not that you have studied it.All you have to do is get rid of your TV. Yup -- we want them to come out as confused as possible, don't we?Bible study involves, as I hope you will agree, measured contemplation of the words, supplemented by diligent reference to a variety of commentaries by theologians of different perspectives.
Would you say it's more important to be associated with one church --- any church --- than it is to never settle in a constant search for truth?Yup -- I feel sorry for church hoppers.
I really do.
Their roots are so deep, a summer breeze could blow them away.
I have studied the Bible lots and lots and lots. Mostly I do that online using Strongs and other reference material. No one has ever questioned me on this, what point are you trying to make? If I know more about something then 98% of the people then why question me on it? What does that have to say for all the people that have never even read their Bible once? What does that say for the people that do read the Bible but they skip over the begats so they do not comprehend the genealogies in the Bible? It is no wonder that they question that Adam was a real man that lived around 6,000 years ago because they skip over all that stuff and they don't read it.I notice you repeat that you have read the Bible and not that you have studied it.
We do not need man to teach us anything, we have the Holy Spirit of God. It is interesting to see what God is doing in the lives of our fellow Christian, but I want it first hand and not handed from person to person to person. I do not what to know what other people say they said.I note you avoid any reference to reading and studying the work of experienced theologians and commentators.
Any church?Would you say it's more important to be associated with one church --- any church --- than it is to never settle in a constant search for truth?
And why is that? What's wrong with other churches?Any church?
Absolutely not.
As long as it's an independent, fundamental, Baptist church that preaches KJB only.
No comment. And why is that? What's wrong with other churches?
-_- reading a book 5 times wouldn't wear it out, nor would seeing pictures of the worn out bible provide any evidence that the reason for the wear was because YOU read it and not someone else.I have read the Bible at least 5 times. I have a photo of the wore out Bibles to prove it.
Cover to cover 3 times. Although, I am certain that I have read some of the books of the bible more than a dozen times. KJV twice and NIV once. How many times have you read the Bible?
If you were concerned about confusion, you wouldn't promote the KJV so much.Yup -- we want them to come out as confused as possible, don't we?
Sorry about your confusion. If you were concerned about confusion, you wouldn't promote the KJV so much.
Not saying I was confused by it, silly. But you are well aware that the KJV has sentence structure that is very different from how people currently speak, which can be a source of confusion.Sorry about your confusion.
Perhaps you're being taught things in higher academia that go against what It says?
Ya think?
Only what you think it says. My "higher academia" was conducted by Roman Catholics, who didn't think the things they taught went against what they (and I) thought it said.Sorry about your confusion.

Didn't you jump me once for using big words, when simpler words would do?Not saying I was confused by it, silly. But you are well aware that the KJV has sentence structure that is very different from how people currently speak, which can be a source of confusion.
And you're not the one saying this:Only what you think it says. My "higher academia" was conducted by Roman Catholics, who didn't think the things they taught went against what they (and I) thought it said.
... are you?If you were concerned about confusion, you wouldn't promote the KJV so much.
Oh, it's not a matter of vocabulary. It's the sentence structure.Didn't you jump me once for using big words, when simpler words would do?
