Question about suicide?

Use a little imagination. The guy would be in heaven whether he asked forgiveness or not. The only question is--IS he a child of God? If so then ALL sins are covered by the blood and suicide is not the unpardonable sin.

There are now certainly men and women in heaven who through discouragement, mental depression, sadness over loss, presumptuousness, etc had come to a point where they took their own life. Christians are not perfect and make bad decisions. Suicide is just one of those decisions.

Baptist or Nazarene - Methodist or Lutheran - we all need to find our authority in the scriptures. This needs to be examined according to scripture, and examples need to be provided in scripture passages that show the validity of the premise.

A major concern for some preachers over the last century or more, and MOST preachers over the centuries prior, is that too many people have a false conversion, and take up promises meant for others. These people make claims, and leave it to us to discern their error. This makes the well meaning and precise preacher to decide on principles and popularity. Should he seek a good report from God, or a good report from the world?

If someone has a scriptural example of someone that God said was his child by faith in Christ, to whom your scenario can be applied, that would be really helpful. Otherwise, we must call it what it seems to be, and that is imagination.

to give insight to what is going on in a person who thinks of suicide, it is one of two things: 1 a person feels numb and can not feel anything at all, they just feel dead already ready.2. they feel extreme darkness, depression is this darkness. Think of it as being in hell on earth, it gets that bad.

So why does a person look to end there time in this life, they feel dead already, they are trying to escape darkness. it has zero to do with wanting to end life and everything to do with wanting to live again. They are trying to live.

Now some say well they need Jesus, well some have Jesus and still go through this, if they did not have a ripe heart for the Lord these states would not bother a person as many people go through life this way unaware.

Just some insight into that world and no you can not really understand fully until you been there.

To put it short in my opinion. Many of us would agree that suicide is a sin. But guess what? Why do we have a Savior? He payed the penalty (our sins) and set us free. He is a forgiving God. He is the only judge.

As Colossians 1:13-14 stated, "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

There are some persons in the bible that did what I believe was suicide attempt.

Samson died from a collapsed building. Of course you all know the story.

The other persons

Saul and His Armor Bearer - 1 Samuel 31:3-6
After losing his sons and all of his troops in battle, and his sanity long before, King Saul, assisted by his armor bearer, ended his life. Then Saul's servant killed himself.

Ahithophel - 2 Samuel 17:23
Disgraced and rejected by Absolom, Ahithophel went home, put his affairs in order, and then hung himself.

Zimri - 1 Kings 16:18
Rather than being taken prisoner, Zimri set the king's palace on fire and died in the flames.

Judas - Matthew 27:5
After he betrayed Jesus, Judas Iscariot was overcome with remorse and hung himself.

Abimelech - Judges 9:54
After having his skull crushed under a millstone that was dropped by a woman from the Tower of Shechem, Abimelech called for his armor bearer to kill him with a sword. He did not want it said that a woman had killed him.

Savior will save only those who will continue to believe in Him till the end no matter what the circumstances are!

Be careful not to think of every one of these as a person who was right with God, and went to Paradise (Abraham's Bosom.) Only one of these people is mentioned in the "Faith Hall of Fame." In Hebrews, Chapter 11, we are told of a number of people who achieved a certain standing with God by exercising faith.

If God gives you faith and grace, and you are delivered from darkness, how is it you would attempt suicide because of the darkness that is upon your soul, as has been described here? It is not consistent with scripture to hold such opposing opinions.

Honestly, I would not tell someone that it is okay to commit suicide. Pretty much the method Muslims uses. Killing themselves and others. I believe that we should live on until our time expire. Whether we die naturally or by nature [accident, natural disaster, or the enemies].

As 1 Corinthians 6:19 put it, "...our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit...You are not your own." I would believe that God would not accept us killing ourselves but to do what is right.

I know God is willing to forgive us of our sins, if our heart is right with Him, but suicide is a bit too much.

i read your other post just decided to pick this one. You obviously do not understand suicide so how do you speak of what you your self do not understand.

Do you think a child of God can ever not believe? Children of God are slaves to God wonder why? Like a Good father He intervenes.

I became an atheist for 6 months, my life was great, then i had to pray again and it all went to crap again. I was never an atheist, in my heart I knew there was a God, and I knew Him, and I was His. I literally can not walk away from God even if I tried. God does not loses His children, John 6.

Those who turn away and never come back were never his.

How do you know where a person Goes after death? Have you been there, have you seen? Has God told you? Because no where in the bible does it say a person goes to hell for suicide, that is man made doctrine.

I have had 22 suicide attempts in the past are you saying I have no faith in Jesus? Because that is what you said, a person who does that has no faith, in fact I explained earlier why people do this. They feel dead already, it is about escape. You think a person can have faith and feel dead? well i have seen Jesus and spoke with Him, I had a dream in which I was speaking to God Just a few days ago, happens often. I have also been attack by demons and Jesus came and told me how to cast them out, in fact He filled me with His spirit so much all I felt was peace, and when I addressed the demon that peace in me came out my mouth like a light and dispelled the demon.

think I am crazy? Whats the matter lost your faith? but I thought it was me who had no faith in God?

Maybe a person can not speak about things they themselves do not understand? Just a thought.

where is your love? were is your compassion for these people? That is not what Jesus taught us to be or do.

sense you are catholic and you are preaching what you think is catholic teaching. Some one post on here the church reversed its stands and in the catechism book said you are to pray for such people and it is unknown where they go. So you are preaching against your own church.

where is your love? were is your compassion for these people? That is not what Jesus taught us to be or do.

My compassion and human understanding will not work! It is God who will decide. Suicide is an attempt to avoid facing the world and God!
