I don't always agree with alot of the WOF ways, for I have been in one for many years, and I came to the conclusion for myself that I put to much faith in faith, instead of God! I was taught about healing when I first got saved, and I went out with it,and tried to lay hands on anyone I could! I first had a friend that was unsaved, and she had a headache,I prayed and she felt it leave, also my son at 5 months had a high fever, and my "jewish" neighbor was over at the time, saw how I layed hands on him,and was instantly healed! These two were in awe! Talk about child-like faith,oh my!!! And the time that I fell and broke my ankle and it looked as if I was going to the Emergency room, and fear came in and told me that, I stood up and claimed it was healed, and through the night had massive pain, but by morning it was all totally healed, went to Church that morning to testify! God used this in my early years, but I started to go into this other 'faith realm' and things weren't working like they were in my beginning years,I had to look and see what was the problem, and like I said,it was MY fault,I wasn't looking to my Great Physician anymore, but the faith I had in it.Anyways,I grew from it,and learned that DR.s are not from satan, like the Church told me they were called, " the faith healers' and didn't believe in Dr's at all!And if you went to one,you were out of faith..I had to re learn some things and just trust the Lord that He is the one that does the work,we just represent Him,for Him to use us for His glory and for people to get their healing.........if you desire to see people set free, and be healed because of His love for them, then He will definetly want YOU to do HiS work, for HIm. I right now put my trust in HIm to keep me healed and whole, even though Dr's are okay with me now , but I still cannot see giving the insurance companies all this money,so I have to just walk by faith in Him to keep me from sickness ,and it has been over 5 years since I have had to be on insurance...........this of course is my faith ,not for anyone else...just my stand, and right now I don't have much of a choice,so I have trustin Him,that if He created me to be whole, then He can KEEP me whole!! thank you Lord!!

heart of heaven yes yes yes, what a wonderful testimony and you are 100 per sent right that it is by faith. i know of only a few that have the walk that you have and i believe that doctors are for us until we develop that kind of faith and can walk in it. i have seen miracles, been used in miracles, and there are also times that laying on of hands has not healded and i am convinced that many times the person has the healing but the devil steals it away by planting doubt. you might have the symptoms and the pain but you are healed by the name of Jesus but if we give in to that pain or ache then we have just allowed satan to steal it from us. many blessings as you continue your walk and may you help others to walk as you are. blessings

This is a complicated issue. I believe every gift/grace has to be received as well as given. If a person, for whatever reason, does not really want healing and therefore refuses to receive it it will not (IMO) be effected.

I do believe, as do many in the Vineyard, that healing is not so much a faith issue as it is a kingdom issue. The kingdom is where God’s will is being done – “Thy kingdom come; they will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Therefore, I have no problem submitting myself to God’s will especially in healing the sick. While I believe that healing is in the will of God for us (“on earth as it is in heaven”) I am not free to demand when healing occurs. When I represent God’s kingdom by laying hands on the sick I am in the will of God and, ergo, His kingdom agent. I do my part – lay hands on the sick and pray – and He does His part. When and how that will occur is beyond my control. It is in the wisdom and will of God.

There are other factors at work but these are two reasons I accept the fact that some people are not immediately healed when I lay hands on them.

IMO.

~Jim

BTW, I am not put off so much by the “begging” aspects of prayer as some are. There have been many times in my desperation when I have begged God. But ultimately, as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane, I submit to His will.

thank you, bill!! It took so much to learn the hard way!Who ever said the faith walk was easy, anyways? We learn as we go,but the best way to learn is not to give up...........keep going and learn from your mistakes! God is not slack concerning His promises as men might think! No Way!!! He loves us too much, for He was the one who made us,He certainly can Heal us by the touch of His anointed hand!!! He longs to touch the one who is sick or weak, or broken! Oh how my heart aches for His love to be shown to those that are in desperate need of it.How He is touched by the feelings of our infirmities,He is wanting to give us that healing touch! We need to just reach up and except what he offers, for again,He made us,created the stars, the grass of the fields, the awesome rainbow after the storm, look at the sunsets, how awesome are His works!! The stars applaud Him,and the angels sing before His throne........oh,how marvelous are His works, and we can't figure out how He would take the time to care for the small needs in our bodies??ahhhhhhhhhhh.... Piece of cake!!!Don't allow the enemy steal from you any loger!! Time to rise and shine your light has come!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Behold His glory!!!

* Believe what the Word of God says. Medicate (rather than meditate) on the WORD. The WORD says that we are to heal the sick and they shall recover
Mark 16:15-18 TNIV said:
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poinon, it will not hurt them at all; they will .place their hands on sick people , and they will get well.

* Make Healing a lifestyle. Just like Christianity is not to be just a religion, but about an on going relationship, healing needs to be ongoing and not just reserved for special occasions.
Matthew 10:8 TNIV said:
heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give

*Have confidence of God in US. It's easy to have confidence in God, but not so easy to have confidence in God in US. Jesus said,
John 14:20 TNIV said:
"On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you."

* Know what you are doing. Do not pray in vain, saying words just to hear yourself talk! Invite the Holy Spirit (Come Holy Spirit COME!) and wait for direction. The biggest mistake is to think that healing has anything to do with us.
Luke 12:12 TNIV said:
for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.

* Be persistant. Like Jim, I approach healing from a Kingdom perspective. By His stripes we are healed, but as John Wimber pointed out, all healing of our bodies is just patchwork on a worn out machine. When we join Jesus, we will be perfect and complete just as we are promised. If we are persistant, more and more of the people we lay hands on will become well. Our faith will increase with each success.
Matthew 17:20-21 TNIV said:
He relplied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,'and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

*Talk about your successes
Be a Witness for Christ. Tell others about healings you have witnessed. Speaking the truth about the miracles you have witnessed will edify yourself and other believers. Increase their faith! Help others to come to know your Lord & Saviour as you have.
Acts 26:16 said:
"Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeard to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me."

* Have a deep relationship with HIM. Remember that none of this is about us, our comfort, or our glory. It is all about JESUS. Too many scriptures to quote here. But I am up for the challenge if anyone desires! lol... This is the most important thing I've learned about healing. Above all other things I must remain focused upon my Lord, Jesus Christ.

You have to have faith in healing, have to have faith in prosperity, have faith in the protection for your family, have faith in this, have faith in that. I say, you gotta have so much faith for so many things! How now? I say, have faith in the one thing that will cause all those to be added to you. Have faith in your righteousness of God in Christ.

I have forgot to mention another important ingredient to Healing.

LOVE

Jesus was healing before he went on the cross and he not only had Faith but LOVE for his brothers and sisters;

"for we can do all things in our Loving Kings name but if we donot have love it will be to non effect at the end of the day".

Love is very important as we can see from Jesus example :D

God Bless all
