Question about hair

So, someone with knowledge about hair can answer this one I guess.

A long time ago when I was a teenager I had REALLY long hair. It cascaded down my back and I think even past my hips it was so long.

Anyway, my mom talked me into getting it cut! I have no idea why I let her do that. I think I look ugly with shortened hair! But she was like: "Oh, you look so cute!" I disagree.

So now I want to grow my hair back out to where it was before regardless of how long that takes. If my mom makes a fuss over it, well, that's her problem, not mine.

My question is this: Do you know of any hair care products I can try that will help me grow my hair out faster?

There are products that claim that, but hair growth really comes from health. You need good nutrition and hydration. If you are deficient in some vitamin or mineral, you could take a supplement. I don't do that without a doctor's recommendation though.

People's hair naturally grows at different paces, some more quickly than others.

I got a really bad hair cut last spring, April I think. My hair is usually long. It was about four inches below my shoulders. I felt that I wanted to go a little shorter. I went to get it trimmed to sit on top of my shoulders and have some layers that were still long enough to tuck behind my ears.

The person did a terrible job. In the front she cut it into a bob up to the middle of my neck, but much shorter in the back. For the layers she just cut out odd, chunky locks in random places. My hair looked like a slumber party prank.

The same day I went to another salon to get it fixed. The second person had to cut it significantly shorter just to make it look like a normal haircut and not like a three year old got hold of someone's scissors. It ended up being a pixie cut with long bangs.

It has taken months to grow out long enough for me to not hate it. I'm debating getting it cut again so that it looks like a style that I like better so it will grow out into that, or leave it alone and let it continue growing before getting the style I want.
