  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i got an olive wood cross today but, I believe the style is gothic. I didn't know until after. Is this still a Holy cross or is it bad?

I'm worried now. I want a cross to wear but can't wear metal.

I also ordered a Style A cross from here:
https://www.stpatricksguild.com/inexpensive-wood-cross-pendant-on-adjustable-cords/

Should I just wait to get that one or can I still wear the one I got today? (pictured below)

You don't need to wear a cross as it has become meaningless as a symbol with satanic rock stars donning them and all sort of reprobate unrepentant sinners wearing them but in reality denying Christ. I believe the first symbol worn by believers in Christ was a fish not a cross. I find if my testimony isn't good enough to draw people to Christ a symbol will only seem hypocritical to me.

I don't see a cross as a holy thing. Rather, it's a symbol that reminds us of Christ's death for us. There may be a particular kind of cross whose design symbolizes something specifically for you. But for most people, they're pretty much the same.
