Question about (Chosen's) Last supper p.1

I have a question about a scene in part one. Jesus makes a scourge of small cords of the money changers. This mimics what is written in John 2. But the synoptic accounts do not mention using a corded whip, which are portrayed to happen in Jesus's last week visit to Jerusalem. It's kind of a two part question.
1. Is the JOHANINE account the same as the synoptic accounts? If no, then
2. Did Jesus use cords in the account found in the synoptics? I.e. did the writers of the Chosen, abuse their artistic liberty?

It is widely accepted that artistic license is used heavily in The Chosen. So if it does not agree with scripture, then it is a fabrication.

I don't think so but some scholars do. See How many times did Jesus cleanse the temple?

2. Did Jesus use cords in the account found in the synoptics?

In the first cleansing of the temple, he used cords. In the second one, he might not have.

I.e. did the writers of the Chosen, abuse their artistic liberty?
